this is what my brother has been using. He also cameras recording behind him down the sides. Saved him twice already. Somebody cut to the inside of him and tried blaming him for illegal turn. Camera proved he was in the right. And another incident he had another trucker pull his pin while waiting to unload. Pulled ahead and his trailer dropped off. Was able to check his camera and seen which driver it was. That ended poorly for the other driver.

that's pretty cool for a camera ...fairly inexpensive too.
Does it keep re-writing itself after the 8G card is full?
If so, how many hours of video does it hold?

Yes it just re writing itself. I believe it's 20 hrs or so then starts again.

The scary thing is no one was breaking the law (unless speeding) so this could happen to anyone. It was just a case of not paying attention. If you were in the car turning left would you think to look back to see if a car was passing?? If you were in the passing car would you for sure see that there was a car in front of the semi??

It is illegal to pass or change lanes in an intersection for exactly this reason. Charges will certainly be made against the blue car driver. For the record, blue car 100% at fault. If it were at a driveway, the blue car would be 75% meaning in those cases, the left hand turning vehicle bears some responsibility as well. Great video Niner. He uses the DOD make from Staples. Posted a pic on page 2. Video is at 65000 views this morning. My brother was saying the red car was brand new, just picked up at the dealership that morning. Pretty good to survive a impact like that in a convertible bug.

It is in the regulations. At any rate, the blue car was passing when it was not safe to do so (obviously) and can be charged with that up to, and including, undue care and attention. Insurance companies settle the collision damage with 100% against the overtaking vehicle at an intersection and 75% at a driveway. I took a second look at the video and find it interesting that the Center line was not double solid as it usually is nearing an intersection.

I don't think anyone would argue that the blue car was not at fault. I was surprised too there was no lines at the intersection. As stated earlier, there was a reason the tractor trailer was slowing down and any half brained driver should not have passed him.

Holy, I can't get over how many people relies on a painted line to say if its safe or not to pass. Double yellow yes, there is a reason for not passing. A dotted line doesn't mean pin it by any means. It is illegal to travel over the speed limit and it is illegal to try and pass someone if it is not safe to do so. I can't believe people need double yellows at every intersection to help them with this decision.

No. He unloads seacans from the rail yards. So you get paid by the delivery. The more loads in a day the better.

I witnessed a similar accident once but rather than turning left the front car changed lanes to pass a car in front of him not realizing that someone was already in the process of passing him, because of that I taught my kids to do a quick mirror check before pulling out to pass someone, never thought to teach them to do the same when turning left though.

Well he’s up to $2600 murican dollars. Just got another $500 today. It’s funny in my sons grade 1 class they asked what the kids want to be when they grow up. And his friend said “ a YouTuber” .Looks like that could be a career choice after all.
