I've been wondering how much tuning you need to be doing on a TNytro or Tapex. I know there's initial setup, but does the EFI / Controller take care of altitude changes all the way from praries to peaks? I imagine the clutching doesn't need too much attention cause of making the same power everywhere right? Can you put on some good trail riding miles or is there a reason this is not a good idea?

Thanks.

The mcx has an altitude compensator which increases the boost as you go up in elevation. I think alot of people are getting rid of them though and going with the hallman or the turbosmart. The powderlites uses a turbosmart manual boost controller so you need to set it for your elevation.

If you are riding down lower, you can run less boost to make the same power. You would have to be careful to not run too much boost at lower elevations or you could risk detonation.

I am not exactly sure on tuning yet for the powderlites. The RB3 is a piggyback system and if the stock ecu has a barometric sensor(someone please clarify if it does), i would think it should run the same a/f wise no matter what elevation. Again i do not know this is true yet, just got my kit and havent had a chance to play with it yet.
