How much should I increase my jet size after adding twin pipes?

Just installed a set of PSI pipes on my 97 700 SKS. The pipes I have had forever. The sled I just got. I recall that I should be up about 5-7 jet sizes. I am not changing the reeds or getting a hi flow air box (slp). I am just looking for a base line starting point. Probably get a boost bottle and power packs. Will be doing a lot of plug and piston wash checks. Any input would help.

5-7 seems a little extreme....... Do regular plug checks, and I doubt you'll have to go up 2 size's. The ACCS system was good in it's time, and it's very hard to kill that 700. Keep us posted how you made out?

I don't believe the 97-98s had the Accs system. That was a elevation compensation that came in on the Gen 2. Sleds like the Vertical Escape had it. It's been a lotta years and a few beers but I am sure my 97 doesn't have it.

Then your sled isn't a 97

The 97's did have ACCS, and now come to think of it...... I don't think that the 700 twin came out until late 98

I may be wrong with the year of the 700 debut, but the ACCS system was Poo. Doo had the HAC system in 97

Yep the teal green rmk?
Drop one jet size and one tooth on top gear and it worked very well.
Had good compression that year .
Next year it didn't run as strong from what I remember .

yeah high compression and I do not think it made noise standards as well and it may have been tuned down for 98.

Many moons ago, I had a 98 with Keihin carbs, and PSI twin pipes. Besides the main jet, the pilot jet was also changed to make it run nicer.
I seem to keep all these papers filed away. Here's a jetting and clutching chart that I used and found they were pretty darn close. Only diff was the "needle" was updated in 98. Exactly for your machine and pipes.......hopefully it will give you a better idea..........good luck

The Polaris. Built twin 700 came out in 97. The SKS. And RMK had it. The head was purple and the sled was teal with purple graphic. In 98 the head was metal with red diagonal. Markings. That color was used later on the 800 head too. In 98 the sled itself was a deep royal blue. The ACCS. I believe is an altitude compensation system. I will bet you a couple of John Deere. Trail Fires. On this that neither 97 or 98 had the ACCS.

You are absolutely correct. The ACCS did not come out until 1999 for the RMK600 and RMK700. They used it in 2000 as well on those two motors. In 2001 when Polaris switched to Mikuni flatslides there was no ACCS. The RMK500 used ACCS from 1997 to 1999. SKS did not ever have ACCS.

Those 97 were awesome. I put over 5000 miles on it and it ran strong all year. I sold it only because well, it had 5000 miles on it! The 98 was strong as well. Only put about 3800 on it in one season. I got a 04 800 RMK 151 and a 05 XC 800. To me there never ran as hard as the 97-98's.
