my buddy has his 07 stacked,(dodge) duals, they are just a touch higher than the roof and are not really that bad no worse than straight piping out the end

Stacks belong on highway tractors and trucks where they actually serve a purpose other than looks. IMO they are about as gay as truck nuts and big white brimmed sunglasses...lol

stacks on a pickup look gayer than 2 men in a tub....get a class one, put on a million miles or so and then see if you still like stacks.....stop being a wannabe. how do you mount a sled deck on that? or pull a fifth wheel....or haul a slide in camper.....you want a truck, that can't be used as a truck?? go hard.....lol

I sort of agree with the gay thing. If you spend a lot of time at the track, then they are a good idea so the smoke doesn't trip the lights, but to have em in a 1/2 ton gasser, or a grocery getter, then ya, as gay as splooch in a mustache.

yeah it's all good until you drive for 4 hours, get out of the truck, set something on the box rail, it falls and you scorch your hand on the hot pipe...or you stop quick with the dog (or kids) in the back.....Theres a reason the hot parts are out of reach under the truck....

That is why anyone who does it right builds an exclosure over the pipes up 10" or so, and then it looks clean and finished.

Personally, I would never have stack/stacks on my truck not a big fan. The very odd truck they look ok. But they are so impractical for the most part. If you pull a trailer much, will be covered with soot. Your roof and box rails will be covered with soot. You loose about 8" of the front of your box. So many other things. Not to mention most people don't put much of a muffler if any, it will be LOUD. I had straight pipe on my cummins for a year or so before I got sick of it, in the factory location and it was ok empty city or highway. But towing 12k trailer, or even 2 sleds on the deck, it was STUPIDLY unbearable. Even windows up radio on I could hear it good. Ok cruising IF it's flat, any grade and you'll be hearing it. Stacks are about 2x worse again. If you could put a good reasonator/muffler then maybe but strait pipe stacks, grocery getter only anyone else would be deaf trying to tow with them.
