how many miles on 11-12 RMK's?

Well the last couple post guys have said there motor is gone in there 011 RMK's..Alot of guys are talking about installing the "fix kit" also before the it goes...So my question is: How many miles do u have on your RMK and have u had any issue's with motor?
Currently I have 475miles

I have read to do the fix because these motors will have a cylinder skirt crack off and fall into the crank within 1,500 miles...Looking for any advise and see what kinda miles they have on there sled ATM and issue's

I don't know exactly, but it's about 580 km so far on my 12. I'm getting a little worried though if I'm going to run into problems in a year.

I got 800 on mine and seems to be like new still, other than
the odd fowled spark plug and heavy black snow under the exhaust
at idle (1700)rpm

what is this fix u are taking about ??
there not dragon engines ?

Its the same kit as used for the dragons. It still solves the horrible tolerances from factory and the taller piston eliminates the slapping effect in the cylinder, which will stop the cylinders from cracking. IMO it's cheap insurance to keep those pro's running properly. Anyone with a polaris 800 should use these kits!!!

550 miles on my 12. Better not need engine parts. My rev had almost 6500km on it when I sold it and is still going strong as far S I know. The600 zx I had before that had 5200 km when I sold it. This one had better last longer than 2000 friggin' km. ( I got long warranty too)

the long warranty is nice but doesn't help when craps out on the 1st day on a trip

There are three 2011's 800's in our group, all around 2000 - 2500 kms.... two of us decided after all the threads on skirts and/or cylinders cracking that for what it is worth we would pull the top ends and check them. Both were in excellent shape, no cracks, no problems... I put in the kit with the spacer/taller pistons etc and my buddy just replaced pistons with stock poo parts... The third 2011 in our group felt that as ours did not really need anything, he decided to run his for the season.... on day three a piston skirt went threw the bottom of the crank case taking out the complete engine!!! soooo it is a bit of a gamble!!! hope this helps!!

My theory is that proper warm-up is the key so it would be interesting to know if you do this or not. I never touch my throttle until the temp is at 120 or higher. Basically I drag it out of the trailer at idle and then let it run while I put on my gear, when we leave the parking lot I am already at 125 at least then I take it easy for a few miles before I get on it hard. This gives the pistons time to heat soak and I have never had a problem. If you fire up a go it shoots my theory all to heck. If I had to guess I would think you warm yours up as well.

I'm with you on the warming, beginning to believe its worth the wait. Also when I'm riding I try to keep my temps down between 125-135. So perhaps proper warming and controlling the heat so the engine doesn't get too hot is the key to longetivity even with the "oops" in the factory engineering.

905 miles, 0 issues on a 2012. Only had 200 miles on it last year, 700 this year.
My buddy has a 2013 also with ~500 miles and it hasn't had any issues either.

No belts changes, or new plugs have been needed in either.
