Fawk that. Anything south of -10, -15 max, and me and Captain Morgan are hanging out inside.

I'm with ya, and even -15 is pushing it for me. I kinda like the +15 spring days actually. I really couldn't care less about riding till mid February unless the weather is really nice. That's why my sleds are still waiting for their fall service. Rocks and stumps are still showing. What's the hurry? :noidea:

Well in my younger years out in the flat lands - pretty much went out if the sled would start - not sure of the temp? was out for a trip few weeks ago out west - Think was about - 10C wind blowing and snowing hard ! - if you werent moving and making internal heat it started to get pretty chilly!! - Its always nicer to have it around the -5c - it just makes it for a better ride !

-15 is about the max now...... after six years of ice racing bikes outside, in the early 90's (a LOT tougher/dumber then). I'd start the day now at -20/25, but as long as it would warm up to -15 or better. I would be go for a rip..... Daytime high of -20...... I don't know???

Minus 20 if in the mountains. -15 around home. Prefer minus 10 anywhere.

Yup minus 20 here too...

What? Braddock of all people I thought you would be at home in the cold. Hell your location is "The North." That lady sled of yours is making sense now (just jokes!!).

-22 for me. Did four days at -26 last year and promised myself I would not sled in that again unless it's a special occasion.

The coldest i rode in was when i was a kid in FtSmith …I drove the Indy sport to the dealer for something. It was below 40 degrees .we rode all the time in weather that was between -25/-32 ish…Today colder than -20 is cold enough to stay inside.I have worked outside for the last 20 yrs and the cold weather doesn't sit well with me any more.

22372_272637957291_3871803_n[1].jpg The temp when we left the truck on this day was -37! I rode with Morgan from Martin west. It took me a little bit to talk him and his buddy into it but we had an awesome ride. lots of powder and no other riders on the mountain. The only trouble I had was that from edmonton to Valemount. there was not a single diesel pump working. The guy at the Co-op card lock in Valemount actually thawed the nozzle with an electric kettle to get me fuel.

When I had my lake front house at Sandy Beach (in 97), NW of Edmonton. I fired up my 97 Summit, let it idle for a long time. It was -35 that afternoon, and went for a ride. In the trees and trails was fine. Took the trails to the other side of the lake, and whacked it back across the lake towards home. I got back and said "no phucking way, am I ever doing that again"!!!

I'm going to agree with the majority and say -20*C is my limit. My buddy went out the other night to try and put some break in miles on his new sled, lasted 20 miles before calling it a night. It was close to -30*C. Just not worth it he said. I'm glad I stayed home.

If I know the high for day will be -20 or warmer I will start out below -20. Went last year on a day like that with layers and was sweating after 100km of riding.

Over the years of doing this, I have froze my nose three times and my cheek once. Now I consider -20C the limit. But I'm going out next weekend, if it's not too cold. LOL.
