House Furnace/Thermostat

I think I know whats going on now......

I was in the bsmt in between post's, and have noticed that the manifold is firing high heat. But the problem is that the blower fan is not kicking on, therefore I'm only getting radiant heat (so to speak)

Is there any S&M members here that would be interested in making some cash over or after the break? I have a good idea of what needs to be done, just not a fan (LOL) of home electrical even with the breaker shut off.

So your fan isn't coming on and you are hitting your high limit causing the furnace to cycle?? can you spin the fan by hand? My bearings went on my fan last winter, the fan just sat there and hummed. The furnace did the same thing, just cycled....

Check to see where the wires of the fan go to. Should be to a box. My box I can push this little button and the fan turns on permanently. The furnace will still call for heat and turn on and off, the fan will just always run. This will buy you some time and get you some heat.

Post the make and model of the furnace.

If your furnace has a multi speed motor you might be able to switch the "heat" speed position. If you lucky it will just be one speed burnt out on the motor that the heat wire from the fan is connected too.

In the lower cabinet, are there multiple colored wires? Cant tell from the pick, it looks like there may be. Follow those wires and what is each connected to on the module?

Can you take a better picture of the wiring schematic in the bottom right hand corner.

Your fan motor has lo, medium, and high settings its just tough to see what is connected where on that schematic

For the time being you could take a regular house fan and point it into the bottom cabinet to force up through the furnace and it may cycle longer before hitting high limit. If you have some cardboard a duct tape make shroud from the fan to the furnace (kind of like a vehicle shroud on the radiator). I've done it before in a pinch and kept a house heated in -35c until a replacement motor cold be installed.
