I have a 98 Polaris XLT Sp that I am going to install SLP triple pipes and Jetted carbs with K&N filters. How much horse power will that give me? Will it be a considerable difference? I want that PUNCH when riding. :d

You should bu a late model of which ever manufacturer builds one you like. Do not waste money working on the one you have.

I looked into triple pipes on my 97 XC600 and was told it would be around 120hp from 98hp so there would be a pretty noticeable difference but the motor would become very finicky and would probably be replacing pistons every season or two. Reliability really drops. On the other hand i am sure there are plenty of people on hear that have triple pipes and never had a problem.

What slamnek said.I had a 95 xlt and put triple pipes on it and the tinkering began,When it was dialed in it was good but the elavation and temp changes from here to the mountains created a nightmare for me as pulling wrenches isnt my thing.I can rejet one in less than 10 minutes now with my eyes closed.
Dont do it unless you like tinkering a lot!
You will gain about twenty horse!

We built a 97 xlt with slp's, v-force some head and porting work it dyno'd at 135hp and its still running today. That was 4 years ago when we built it. The biggest problem we found with putting the pipes on stock cylinders was the exhaust ports were far from big enough to accomodate the flow of the pipes. So some grinding went on and walla strong reliable engine. Just my opinion:cool:
