This may inspire some ideas for anyone who needs to carry a chain saw and is a bit handy with tools.

The mid size Polaris have a round bar that I used for a mount. Other quads will vary.

Materials were:

1/2 " plywood
2 electrical conduit clamps
2 eye bolts
some #8 wood screws
4 carriage bolts
wood glue
2 hrs free time.

Cost less than $5.00 to build.

I don't see how this could be good for the chainsaw? It looks top heavy and I'm wandering if the bouncing around would eventually snap the top half off. I'm just curious because I am looking at building a box for my 850 XP...

Nice set up........ how much more stuff can a guy actually put on a polaris....ha ha* just kidding...good thinking man.
