Hi there. I have a holtzman variflow on my sled that I have recently purchased from someone. I dont know how to set this thing. If the needle is pointing to rich and my plugs are still running a little white , which way do it turn this dial? In the picture is very similar to the one I have on my sled. Mine is like a pink color and has lines on both sides of the rich. Thanks

You may need to rejet the carbs richer to compensate for a change in elevation or cooler temps than what it was ridden at before.

If it is on the rich setting and running lean you will need to jet a little fatter to get a baseline. I always had mine jetted for -30 down low and then would lean it out as things warmed up or gained elevation.

There also should be some other bushings that go in the lines that can adjust jetting to.

What others have said, if your lean the. You need to richen it up.

remember the holtz vari-flow can only reduce the amount of fuel and cannot add any extra and give the illusion of running a larger jet.

This...

Do you have a reducer in your big line, just a connector or nothing at all? If it's the reducer, that will lean you out even further, from rich all the way to 4.

I ran one of these on a Yamaha triple back in the day and it worked awesome. Could ride from sea level to 10K without jetting. I wouldn't use one of these without an egt gauge and some knowledge of reading plugs and wash. Thankfully we have efi now and don't have to worry about any of this.
