One of the biggest problems with tire life is bent axles. The axles coming on many trailers are just heavy enough for the trailer and overloading causes them to over flex and bend. My tire life sucked until I re-curved my axles. I literally bolted the ends of a heavy chain near each each wheel and used a 10 ton jack sitting on the chain and pushing up on the center of the axle to re-curve and deflect the wheels back to give some camber. Now the tires run perpendicular to the horizon when the trailer is loaded.

Carlisle Radial Trail HD 15's with Load Range D (8 ply), 65 PSI max. Fully loaded for a big trip trailer is probably over 10,000 Lbs. Been a fantastic tire, very little wear over many km's. I like the solid center bead. Thought Kal Tires price was decent.

Had some cracking issues with the previous set which were Marathons. May or may not have been the tire as I was later told that storing trailers with the tires on concrete can dry them out and eventually will crack.

They aren't cheap? It's $160 for a tire and rim mounted. Not sure how it gets any cheaper then that.

I paid $240 for 14 ply sailiun S637 mounted on my own rim. Won't go back to 10 ply.

Dude, read the title, HOLIDAY TRAILER TIRES. Running 14 ply with 110psi would kill virtually every holiday trailer on the road. Mighty as well just get a shop with a plasma table to cut out round steel inserts and put them on instead.

You would think the 10 plys would stand up well when you dont have brakes.
