now my next rant...... Bought the wife one of those garage floor mats to catch the water and chit off her truck..... it's 7.5' wide and my trailer is 8, had to park the trailer off centered and with one side blocked up to direct the run off to the mat..... I want to find or make one of those fawkers 18 x 18.

Or just buck up an put floor drains in I guess.

Your garage is on top of a hill. It should have floor drains.

exactly...peoples signature lines are like a fawking shopping list. And its pretty easy to tell when they're out of town.

Daughters car is usually in front of it but she stayed at a friends last night...... Sled trailer is going into the garage with the dogs and the 4runner can sit outside.

This sounds eerily familiar... I am certain they case places and make lists (and yes even use Google Maps / Earth) to pick their targets. When mine were stolen it was literally the only day that my truck was not parked directly behind the trailer, blocking all access. I had moved my truck to shovel the driveway and then just went to bed.... woke up the next day with no sleds. Even made it easy for them as the driveway was clear of my truck, and snow. FFS! I'm sure someone on my block called "Uncle Jimmy" to say "pssst his truck is not blocking the trailer, come get his sleds Louie".

I had a 2014 28' camper trailer stolen from my property last month. It had both a ball lock and a pin lock on it. No signs of a portable grinder being used. I suspect that they mearly jacked the trailer hitch up high enough to drop it down over a ball and hook the safety chains over it until they found a better place to work on properly hooking it up. Thankfully it was found 2 weeks later on a residential street in Kelowna.

Should be easy enough to get a big tarp and either put some plastic pipe or some pipe insulation under 3 sides. And by tarp I guess I mean canvas tarp not the **** plastic ones lol

To pro's maybe.... but my $9 hitch lock saved my azz yesterday

Google hitch locks and watch some YouTube vids of how long it takes to foil any of them... They are a waste of money for the most part.

The guys who know what they're doing can steal anything, in a very short time. Mickey Mouse crack head losers are opportunists. If it's easy, they'll grab it. If you can slow them down a little, chances are they'll move on to easier prey. A hitch lock may not prevent a theft, but you can almost gaurentee it'll be gone if you don't lock it up.

Buddy surrendered pretty quick on the last one. Spends almost 7 minutes on one, and quits after 1:30 on this one. Very obvious that's the one he's selling. I'd have tried the pry bar in one of the top holes, or use the recip on the top steel where it's over the coupler in the easiest spot to access, rather than trying underneath with little to no access.

I suspect the one he's promoting looks not that difficult either. Buddy had his trailer stolen with a yellow Reese one over the hitch one, was snapped off.

Best way to catch these guys after anti theft device is foiled are gps trackers heard a good news story last week of a stolen toy hauler with a tracker in it was recovered in Quebec from BC.
