Oh for sure. It is good fun, but ppl can't control other ppl out on the road. That's all I was getting at.

Well I sort of disagree. Even talking about topics like these in a forum like this can bring awareness to it. And it is illegal and people do get charged everyday with this stuff.

And just because we can't directly control others doesn't make it right to do. Anyways, I'm getting off the soapbox. Too much free time at work.

you'll get a ticket for running fog lights in BC when visibility is clear. here in AB the cops don't give a chit about lighting. one day someone in gov't will realize the cash cow they've been missing out on.

troy... the stock white lights under the head lights is that what we are calling fog lights????? IM confused sorry... or are we talking aftermarket yellow fog lights? The stock ones turn off when you hit your high beams! So anyone that can keep both on (like some highway commercial trucks) that's after market??? Is it illegal to run your vehicle with it's stock OEM4 white lights on... someone once in BC told me the only lights that are illegal are illegal cause their not white?
thanks...

Stock HIDS are totally fine. It's the aftermarket ones when the guy cheaped out or doesn't know any better and doesn't have a proper kit. There's tons of light "spilling" out and no direct light cut off on the road in front of them. These are the ones that totally blind you. You'll know when you see these guys because there is no just looking straight ahead and being ok with it.

ever watch bugs life? Just like flying to the blue light! I agree with you x110%

So guys save some cash not everyone has 1200 for proper lights. You probably should be ticketed if your running bigger than stock tires and havnt upgraded your brakes. I'll take my chances on the road meeting guy with bright headlights there is a lot of other things to worry about when driving than that.

yeah, the lower white lights on any new vehicle. they can be white or amber and still be called fog lights. there is a lot of discussion as to whether they are fog lights or driving lights, but in the manuals in both my vehicles they are referred to as "fog" lights. the only reference I can find to "driving lights" is to daytime running lights that are separate from the headlights. the other term is "auxiliary lighting" which is only permitted to come on with high beam lights.

as for truckers, I also see more and more guys running with their stock fog lights in the bumper on with their low beams, on mine the fogs are on a separate switch and never come on with the low beams unless you turn them on. I also see a lot more guys running LED driving lights and leaving them on with their low beams.

I'm not 100% certain this is accurate, but I have seen somewhere that when meeting other vehicles on the highway you are only allowed two forward facing white lights. I haven't been able to find any law containing this info though.

as for the color deal, you aren't allowed any other color than amber or white facing forward, and red facing rearward.

On any new vehicle the lights are plenty bright stock

You obviously haven't rode in a 13 ram with the projectors, once you get a little road dirt on them their like candles, so dim, once I can find a hid kit that will work with the canbus system I'll be changing.

Even though I don't run them myself - I've got ZERO issues with HID's!! What I do have a problem with is that the IDIOTS that install them and don't have the first clue on how to align/aim them. Those fawkers get 52" of LED light bars...that makes their HID's look somewhat insignificant, but it allows me to see through their eye piercing, improperly aimed HID's:D

there's no way to properly aim them unless they are in projector housings. period.
