hiding in Eastern Canada

Took on a project in Quebec, NB, NS & PEI. Put on 2500 kms with 61 stops all over Que in 5 days. Currently in Chandler. Rain, fog and cold weather plaguing the project. Plan to be home for Easter if possible.

you poor guy, I've been there, except I do not speak a WORD of french, so I found a restaurant chain with an English menu, and at there for the entire week.

Just got home , flew out of Halifax.
Have nothing but good to say about the Provinces of QUE, NS, NB and PEI.
We were treated like royalty by the locals.
Put on 7500 kms for the job and worked 12 - 16 hours a day and gone for 14 days. Had little time to enjoy the sites but did cut loose in Charlottetown PEI while attending some of the East Coast Music Awards with the Bacardi Rep...what a blast.

I took roughly 1000 photos so I can bore you all to death over the next few months.

I have spent some time in Quebec as well. Have always been treated like royalty. The whole Quebec against western Canada thing is way overblown. They are very friendly and love coming west to see our part of the world. A very small minority actually want to seperate I have found. Now people from Ontario............They need to get their politcal hats screwed on abit tighter.

Wow that's amazing. I wonder why that happened to you. I've had two very different experiences. Me and a bud rode our 750 Nortons to Halifax in 1973. Every single restaurant we stopped at in Quebec they would not serve us because we spoke English. There was always some kind hearted person who felt sorry for us and took a rip on the waiter/waitress and made them serve us. I couldn't wait to out of that province.

My wife is from Quebec. Her and family are English Quebecors. We went to visit her folks about 8 years ago and nothing has changed since 73. Couldn't wait to get out of the place again.

Maybe they don't like bikers? Lol. Alot has changed since 1973 I'm sure. I'm pretty sure there were places in the U.S. that didn't serve black people in 73'. Different times now.

Ya no not much has changed. I talked to some BJ guys who took some frac equipment down to Quebec this winter. One guy tried to get a hair cut and the barber wouldn't cut his hair. He just acted like he didn't understand English even though buddy was using BODY English to describe getting his hair cut. Talk about ignorant. Several others had a hard time getting served food in restaurants as well.

Anyway I got to tour all of Eastern Canada on several occasions. I worked in NS and NFL for a while too. I really really loved NS. I would have stayed down there had the wages been better. I guess I got spoiled with better pay early in life coming from AB. I got to drive across NFL several times and really loved that province as well.
