Where abouts on the river? Where would you stage? I have a cough and might have to call in sick to the office! :)

I'm off tomorrow..anyone up for a rip? :Snowmobile1:Thinking Sturgeon River run

I'm working tomorrow unfortunately, but I had fun out there tonight. The ditches along highway 28 are drifted in nicely. Foot or more in places. The snow hasn't had a chance to set up yet so the drifts were nice and soft. Good snow on the river too. Sill coming down really good. I had trouble seeing some times.

Never ridden it so no idea where is best to stage, I have seen the RC's ticketing guys at the bottom of the hill just past 37 heading N so probably not there. lol Thinking along RR 240 somewhere, although most of the county in that area is a no go for sleds

A popular place is on highway 28 a mile or so north of Highway 37. On the right just before the bridge there is an access road. Just don't go into the field to the east of the highway south of the river. You'll tick off the land owner and he will come after you if he sees you.

Between 28 and 37 the river isn't flooding anymore, but be careful around any beaver dams. There could be thin ice or open spots. Closer to Gibbons the ice is generally riskier as well. I don't know the conditions from 37 to St. Albert, but thats a no off road vehicle area.

Used to live in Morinville and work on the base, seen them there a few times, but maybe just checking registration/ins, and making sure sleds/quads aren't going west on the river.
