So I ordered some specialty tools from a store in Edmonton. After receiving them I found they where not what I wanted or ordered. I ordered a name brand tool and was sent another brand that is manufactured by the company instead of the actual brand I wanted.

I paid more than a fair price because I wanted to keep my money in Alberta, I could have ordered from Ontario for less. My bill of sale says the proper brand. I ordered about 8 tools and got 3 of the actual right brand products.

The best part is the box came damaged and there are pieces missing and so nothing is even useable!

I immediately contacted the company owner and got into a fight with him as he refused to do anything about it. Says I got what I paid for and no returns. Tells me he did me a favor giving me a great deal.

The tools I got from him can be purchased online for way less than I paid.

I than ordered the proper tools from ontario since the ones I have are not what I want and are not useable.

I contacted Visa and it will be a big process to try to get my money back.

Any ideas how to rectify this would be appreciated.

Tools where 2700.00 so it kinda hurts.

Try Service Alberta, you might have something under the Fair Trade Act

guy has been in business a long time, has a pretty nice store and is not at all what I would expect from this sort of establishment. Times are tough I guess!

Go through visa. It's not that hard. They send you paper work. You fill out and sign and send back. Probably easiest solution.

I would think Visa would be able to help right away.
I had an issue with a vendor using my Amex. I tried working it out over 3 months and finally called Amex.
They refunded my money immediately from their own accounts, then went after the vendor and got them to refund it.

I called Visa again, this time they said I need to wait fifteen days and if he doesn't arrange for pickup to call them back. Then they will take it back from his account.

I have done hundreds of online and telephone orders. I think this is the first time it hasnt gone good.

I had a problem with an auto wrecker once. Visa required a statement from me with pertinent documentation and the transaction was cancelled by them. Easy as pie.

Sounds like story time!!!!!

We had been paying cash for a dance or two. We decided we wanted to get a private booth with a pair of nice ladies. To do that though, we had to buy at least one bottle, and they wanted a c/c number. At the time, I probly wasn't thinking... straight, so just went along with it.

Wife and I were having a pretty good time, but one thing led to another, and another brod showed up. Wifey and I decided it was probly time to shut'er down. When it came to sign for the check, the end charge was farrr different then the initial 'quote'.

I refused to sign. They threatened to arrest me. I told them to go ahead and phone the cops then. We went back and forth for nearly an hour. In the end, I paid the girls cash, and they basically kicked us out saying that I didn't need to sign anyway, as they would get the money from mastercard regardless.

In the morning, I phoned and told Mastercard the story, and they said it's very common for that to happen, and they would just reverse any charge from that place.

I have previously used social media (Facebook) to shame companies in to acting honourably... You'd be surprised what the threat of exposure on their Facebook page can do. You are one person, and they have you money already so they don't care. With social media, you are "1000's of people" and they may not like the thought of losing potential business. Go to their Facebook page and tell the story publicly.....
