Thats not good. Hopefully he doesn’t make more noise about our industry in the meantime.

Totally different scenarios between our sport and heli skiing. Pretty hard to social distance in a helicopter and I would say a lot of his customers are from out of the country too so there is the quarantine issue as well. If he is a smart businessman he will open up lodges for other activities such as sledding.

Took the family panorama skying over Christmas, from clerks, staff, to ski patrol.. all seam to be over seas.. asked how they got back with covid pandemic, they said no problems, the hill called them essential services and there visas were granted..

sure makes you wonder how much gov pull these ski hills have.. all make minimum wage and take away from local jobs
Many of the staff were here all summer. The ones who were not had to be tested, isolate for 14 days and good to go. Same as anyone else travelling.

Makes a person laugh at times !!
A Business that fights very hard against motorize sports ,snowmobiling in particular. But then some , when Heli skiing is shut down will pay him to fight against the sport you luv. Contributing funds to a business that opposes sledding. Unreal
Even more hypocritical ? His business even allowing sledders ?!! If he does ?

Hope people take lots of pictures if they do stay ? Lol

For the number of years he has been there it doesn't look like the town has seen any benefit.

Supporting Wiggly is like shopping at MEC.
I won't rent a room from him no matter how cheap or nice.
Maybe times have changed but there used to be no Love in between locals and Wiegle.
Sledded with one of his pilots about 6 years ago - he was only fan of the job not the operation.
99% of all goods an workers were shipped in.

Wiegle did however assist many sledder avalanche victims when ever the need arose.
So not all bad.

I don't think he wanted to help with SAR but the optics of not helping would do him no good. He truly hates the sledding community from everything I've heard about him.

My uncle and his buddies ask him to fly out a dead sled. He said the only way he helps sledder is if it’s life or death. Won’t help if it isn’t an emergency

Nobody hates the skiers.

Wiggledick was trying to tenure the whole valley for himself and have all the sledding closed down.

well isn't he a dip**** then...deserves a kick in the balls and deportation to wherever he came from

Karma for that op. Been pretty aggressive with the sledders. Deserves everything headed his way.

Didn't his daughter take over the operation a couple of years ago? At least in a general management aspect? I'm sure Mike is still the sole owner of the whole thing.

I'm sure one season shut down won't totally crater MWH and I'd imagine most other heliski outfits are in the same boat. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of dropping 100k for a week of skiing. Even if it is the most epic riding on the planet. Makes the thought of snowchecking a new sled a little easier to swallow lol.

I met him years ago while out in some area we likely shouldn’t have been but it was a different time!, , he was out with just one other guy and their own chopper, we all sat and had lunch together and just talked snow and mountains for an hour! He must be really old now, he looked to be in his sixties then and that was well over 20 years ago now!
