I leave for Toronto at 6am so no doubt we will get hammered... it will be an epic local sledding weekend and I'll be away....

[h=2]Warnings[/h]Spruce Grove - Morinville - Mayerthorpe - Evansburg
3:32 PM MST Tuesday 27 November 2012
Snowfall warning for
Spruce Grove - Morinville - Mayerthorpe - Evansburg issued

Heavy snowfall to start early Wednesday with 15 to 25 cm of snowfall expected by Thursday.

A deep Arctic ridge is building down from the Yukon and Northwest Territories bringing below normal temperatures to most of Alberta. Strong winds combined with the cold temperatures will produce extreme wind chill values near -40 in the High Level region by Wednesday morning. At these extreme wind chill values frostbite on exposed skin may occur in less than 10 minutes.

Overnight an intense upper disturbance from the Pacific will cross the Rockies generating a band of heavy snow that will extend from the Grand Cache and Grande Prairie region through Whitecourt into the Capital region including the city of Edmonton by Wednesday afternoon. The heavy snowfall is expected to taper off by Thursday with snowfall amounts in the 15 to 25 cm range. However snowfall is likely to continue into the weekend for Central Alberta.

You can't just say things like this and not have any links to back it up!! Lucky for me I get to drive to Coal Valley tomorrow to pick up my tools, windy roads, snow, deer and logging trucks...Yaaaay!:frusty:

Snowwise Ministik should be good for Saturday- especially after Wednesday and Thursday. Ice wise though, we may not have deep enough ice to hit up Joseph Lake.

Keep us posted Ok Brian!

Tri-county club has cleared all 65km of trails in November
(THANKS to all the trail maintenance crews)

Talking to AESRD today so they are aware the trails are clear and hopely we meet their 6" of snow by December 1 -- then we open

TCSC is ready

KEEP OFF the ice for a while -- will be out Saturday drilling the lakes to see just what the ice depth is -- November 18 - 2 to 3 inches ONLY

As soon as AESRD contacts me that the gates are open I will post it all over S&M

I just got to fort Mac and this is the news I get? Oh well, I'll be home in a week and hopefully there'll still be some snow left for me to enjoy when I get back.

I'm flying home from work in the Arctic tomorrow. Hopefully this doesn't stop me from getting home. Can't wait to get out riding!
