Me and my boss swapped heads on our M8's. He has a 2010 w/turbo and mine is 08,he needed a head with less compression so we swapped. Now i need to run premium in mine. Trouble is she is full of 87. Can I just add octane boost to the 87 or should i save myself the trouble and just suck out the fuel and start fresh?
Im hopin to get more power in the midrange...i will find out tonight!

save yourself a lot of greif. suck out the 87 and fill with premium. couldn't hurt to add a little race fuel to your first tank just to make sure any residual 87 doesn't bring down your octane.

No octane booster will turn premium into race fuel. There are very unique and significant differences in race gas vs premium. It may up the octane so that you won't have detonation, but it won't turn pump gas into race gas.

What Modman says!!! Do it right the first time and have no worries. For the short time it takes, empty the tank or get the majority of the fuel out then fill with premium and add you octane boost. Higgins.

Wow are you funny.

I never said i believe it...its what i heard. The stuff is TORCO, says right on the back of the can "transforms pump gas into a 104 octane high performance race fuel" Now not saying this is true but i was just lookin for help. THX

Is this is the Race Fuel Concentrate? I'm assuming it is. Again, it will up your octane enough to run the head, but it won't make it race fuel. Octane is just the fuel's resistance to detonation, you can up the octane by adding a component like toluene, but race fuel has a specific gravity, moisture content, distillation process blah blah blah...that makes it burn better, more consistent, etc than premium with additives. Give'r a try, the race fuel concentrate is cheap stuff so I'd add more than specified to make sure its OK and the octane is there. Last thing you want to do is cheap out and wreck a piston over $2 worth of concentrate.

Don't take offence to any of the posters above, they're just having fun. There are lots of guys who come on here and talk about how they added the Canadian Tire octane boost to their gas tank and now their sled makes 400 HP. Those octane booster threads get old quick. :D Hope that helps.

what compression are you running now, you might want to mix a 50/50 blend of vp or av gas and premium. deffinetly dont cheap out on fuel, i can show you a collection of pistons that i wish i never had.

Well cats have a big fuel inlet i would think if you tip it on its side 2-3 time all the fuel would be out of the tank.
