What diode do you need exactly? I'm not an electrical person at all but I've been wanting to do this forever.

LOL yea it's not real great to be in front of or behind of the truck I guess. But I got my stealth mode ;) hehe

regardless I love my headlights! Sorry for the blindings!
Why dont you mount some aircraft landing lights while youre at it so oncoming drivers can be totally blinded and either smash into you or off the road especially when it's snowing!

I think the ones I grabbed were a 5 amp diode Rucky, got them from a local shop that rebuilds alternators.

you know that means your truck rear end is siting to low and it raises your lights... just turn your lights down and advoid the issue

PIAA I have Hid in a lifted truck with two sleds on back 7 out of 10 people i meet bright me.

no need to be rude. being flashed and people leaving there highbeams on regardless of your lo-beams isnt great either, its just as blinding if not worse, iv met my truck on the road and been followed by it.Yes I want to angle down the headlights but cant seem to figure out how, there should just be an adjustment screw/knob on them but when i've had them out of the truck I cant find it. So i need to figure out how else to adjust. Not sure. Not saying its right having them in the truck without adjustment, i just havent had a chance to do it yet. And there not that bad that you'd smash into me nor would you hit the ditch, you shouldnt be driving or perhaps need your eyes checked if thats the case.

I drive 12 hours a night in the worst conditions possible trying to keep the highways open here in BC and if you can't figure out how to adjust youre lights to lower the beam take youre truck to a mechanic that can.

With all due respect and as much appreciation for what you do.... Some plow trucks are the most blinding on the road. Personally I run 55w 6000k HID lows. Highs are still stock. I don't find that HIDS make any improvement for highs. Might throw some Piaas in there or something.

Oh... And my headlights are adjusted properly for when the deck is loaded.

I have found the same man, I changed out my stock headlights with projectors and 35watt HID's since the start of this thread and I also think the stock halogens were better on high beam. weird....the low beams are incredible compared to stock. was thinking of trying 55w HID's for the high beam to see if it improves, is that what you have for highs?

Just put the hid headlites in my 2011 dodge and also did the fog lites......... Frickin' awesome. These are the motorized type, so they self level when i'm towing loads. Only been flashed once in 3 weeks, and i was coming over a hill......... My motorized premium set for the headlites were $275 and the fog lites were $199 + labour

you have the 2 headlight system in your dodge Ric? there is a guy around peace that has his foglights converted, I want to smash them out.....he has them on all the time. I guess they really help driving around when the streetlights are on


and what are these motorized self leveling bulbs you speak of? like bi-xenon bulbs? for hi and low beam.....?

summitric what brand are those i'm very interested in those as driving here in bc if you dont have bright lights is a nightmare! and with the bright lights it doesnt matter if you have the aircraft grade lights or even just stock bulbs your always gonna get flashed I have been flashed a ton of times with stock bulbs in my dmax I even had 1 idiot the either night coming home from fairmont hotsprings yes I had my high beams on with my lightbar from rigid had a guy coming towards me so I hit my dims putting my stock low beams on and the idiot got closer and put his high beams on (he watched me hit my dims) so I clicked my highbeams and light bar and gave him a good blast. but all i'm saying is that stock bulbs or hid's your gonna get brighted by someone out there but hey I'd rather be able to see what is coming up in front of me at night then be worrying if my lights might be to bright

but hey I'd rather be able to see what is coming up in front of me at night then be worrying if my lights might be to bright

yup, i have the 2 headlite system and the motorized ones work great. They self adjust when loads are put on the truck. Unfortunately my fog lites aren't motorized, so i'll have to be careful with them;)
which kit? I haven't heard of the self leveling HID's.....did you put them in your stock dodge headlight housings?

in all the kits I have looked at, motorized bulbs only mean that the bulb is inside a metal shield, and the bulb raises up inside the shield for low beam and drops out of the shield for high beams in a 2 headlight system.

which kit? I haven't heard of the self leveling hid's.....did you put them in your stock dodge headlight housings?

sure did...... They work awesome, and you can see the line of lite, and it is below the trunklid of most smaller cars..... Just be sure the headlites are leveled before putting them in. These kits are awesome quality with all wires inside looms and weatherpack connectors, and quality relays and modules........

in europe it is law that the HID systems used there must be self levelling. it is not enforced in north america, the headlights must have a lens cleaning system and beam leveling system to prevent glare to other drivers everywhere else in the world.

thnaks for the info summitric i'm gonna go check those out
converting a dodge 2 headlight system is a huge pain compared to a GM. the DRL on a GM are on a separate bulb aside from the headlights and require no extra wiring relays etc. no bi-xenon bulbs required, just a 9006 kit for low beams and a 9005 kit for high beams. plug and play....
