Hay Lakes Hotel

I heard last year that the Hay Lakes Hotel burn down. It was a great afternoon ride to go from Ministik to Hay Lakes Hotel and them back. Has Hay Lakes re- build the Hotel or is there another place to stop ( warm up, eat, get gas etc) in Hay Lakes ?

The Hay Lakes Hilton is indeed no more... I am not sure what is in New Sarepta now but there used to be a hell of a good pizza place on the main street.

You can ride from ministik to the round hill bar.These small town bars are all dieing for some reason.The only crappy thing is there is no fuel in round hill so ya might have to pack some.

I thought i read somewhere that the Ministic trail might be groomed all the way to Hay Lakes. Anybody know if thats true? Also the Iron Horse pub at New Norway is closed as well.I just heard that the minonnites have a really good restauant in New Norway called the Copper Kettle,no liqour. Ferintosh is still open,it has fairly good food. Round HIll doesnt have much for food--just bar snacks and wobbly pops.

When did the Steel Horse close in New Norway? I thought it was open last month? I will phone today to confirm. That place made good wings!

The trips to Hay Lakes brings a tear to my eye Zar, now it's going to be Long Lake to Smokey lake if I can remember how to get there.

Sorry guys--I saw that Gord and Lynda had an auction in Camrose and i thought they sold all there bar stuf and were closed.I guesse i was wrong the Iron Horse is open.I also miss Hay Lakes bar-i live about in the middle between camrose haylakes and round hill-HOpe somebody opens up something in Haylakes!

Yeah, the Hay Lakes trip was fun. We used to make a day of it and head that way from amrose. They had fuel and a pub to warm up in. Much better than the Round Hill trip! The Steel Horse is a nice ride from Camrose and they have fuel in New Norway. Good food at the Steel Horse as well!
