Just wondering if it a bad idea to haul a 163" sled on a 7 foot deck
Is this hard on the back end having it hang off so far
If so what is the better option

Either get an 8ft deck or get a shorty with an extension. The 7ft is doable and lots of people do but there is a lot hanging off.

You can get an extension for your deck, I put my 163 on a 7 foot marathon deck all last winter and never had any issues

This is what a 156 track looks like on a 7' deck

Would not have cared with my Rev, but with the XM I'm almost uncomfortable enough with that much overhang to get something made .. I was thinking about a 8' steel frame to bolt onto my deck .. but now I'm wondering if I can get a custom hitch mount extension made.. something like one of these, but just to extend 1' past my deck and be 1' lower so it'll act as a beavertail!

TG, Im in the process of building a set of these. I am just trying to figure the best way to fasten them to the deck.
I see the angle iron on the backside. Did you run flat bar straight out the front or at the front angle ?
Thanx. a pic of the front or off of the deck would be cool if you have one. plz

Since 05 and no problems, I doo throw a flag on the bumper of the sled. Only ever been checked once in Revy for straped down on west side of bridge by DOT. Let it all hang out.

I am at work today so no picture til tomorrow am. It is a 16 wide by 20 inch long area for the track to sit. I just added an "L" to the front so it hooks on and mates to the end of my deck. The "L" has a piece of flat steel just for reinforcement as all the weight is thee and Im a piss poor welder at best.

PM me and I will remember to send you pictures.

i am picking up an extension for my marathon from crosstrax i only have had the sled on there once when i picked it up and more track hangs off the 7 ft marathon deck than what is on it (older summit 156 track ) i like the idea of it firmly sitting on the deck plus it should also be a little easier to load
