handlebars- bend back or replace?

bent my bar yesterday on my 2010 rmk
its got about 1 1/2 inches of bend to em,
is it worth trying to bend them back, or just replace em

If you would ride at 20mph all the time, bend them back but your not riding a elan so best bet buy new ones. Wipe out aren't that fun.

replace them!! try ridin out of the hills with one side to hold! been there done that! it sucks! cat bars are around 80 bucks so polaris should be close?!

Had A friends old 670 summit and he had bent the bars back straight, I then was riding it and the bars broke off and stayed in my hands but streched the throttle cables to wide open throttle. Lol. Sled shot out from under me and jumped right over a hiway and thru a barb wire fence. Lol. Thank god the fence ripped the rest of the cables out and no one got hurt.

Lesson.

Always wear your tether

And never bend the bars back. Just weakens it.

Buy new ones they will break at the worst time and youll end up doing more damage then you'll kick yourself and then your buddies kick you because they told you to get new ones in the first place. Ask Boydo hes been there, done that.

A friend of mine bent his 10 rmk and it didn't take much to bend it take alot less to break it seem might be lightem up a little to much now

my bars didnt bend....they just moved in the pivot adapter...:d

I was over at my buddy's house last night and he decided that he wanted to straighten his bars, tried to talk him out of it, but I wasnt going to tell him how to paddle his canoe. Well there he is with a 3' snipe on one side and both feet up on the running boards laying out pulling on the snipe. Gets them to about 1/2" to where they were supposed to be. He figures that he's come this far may as well make them perfect. Lays out again and pulls , well he got the 1/2" and then some! He's flat on his back on the shop floor, then he starts scrambling to get up (hoping that we didn't see) almost smokes his head into the edge of the cabinet, knocks his beer over and dumps all over him and 1/2 the handlebar swingin in the air like an old grandfsther clock. So, the moral of the story is...maybe buy a new set of bars and save a beer.

just carry a pair of vice grips to run the the throttle cable, or a pair of old belts to throw over the ski's for brakes, and make sure ur wearing a tek-vest, or better yet a good knife and some duct tape to whittle out a cross support for when the bars do break:d

ordered new stock bars today, 75 bucks and will be here at the end of the week, and 45 bucks for new heaters
dealer wants 150- 200 to change em out... so I'm gonna do it myself

good! i guess you get do not stop at the hospital,8hr tow out job or the embarrassment AND ridicule of your friends tellin you i told you so!! good choice!!!lol
