Handlebar slop

I'm trying to eliminate the slop I have in steering post/handlebars on my '14 proclimb with adjustable steering post. Whats the best option? Is getting the t-top kit from z-bros and getting rid of the adjustable post the answer? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance

Look into the bushing kit from www.canadasledparts.com. They have a two bushing kit for the adjustable post.

Yah I bought the upper steering bushing, but didn't buy the secondary bushing. The upper bushing replacement didn't make much difference at all. Maybe I just need to replace the secondary. Seems like there is a lot of movement still there though for one bushing to fix. Worth a shot I guess.

Catmando posted a review a week or so ago he changed both. For some reason it is introduce yourself section.

the bottom is where a lot of the play is so that is needed. I as well did the T-Top from z bros and that made a big difference almost zero slop in my 2013.

Do the t-top or the solid post and both bushings, it will be night and day different. I used the zbroz adapter on my 13 and the bushings and it was tight. On my 16 with the solid post I was able to get one season on the original bushings, then changed them out for the Canada sled parts one.

Thanks for the feed back! I'm going to change out the secondary bushing and do the t-top as well with a 4" knuck riser from CFR. Hopefully that'll do the trick. Some guys like the adjustable post but it never made much sense for me cause I leave my bars in the same position all the time.

I just changed out my adjustable post for the HCR fixed version. What a difference in feel. I had the Canada sled bushings on my adjustable and they got rid of the play in the bushing, but there was still a ton in the actual post. Something else to check if you haven’t already done it, is look at the lower mount on the bottom steering shaft, the mount eventually tears. That introduces a lot of slop. AC has a fix kit for it.

I will have too check out where that thread was, somebody messing with me lol and yes they made a big difference, I ya not perfect but it doesn’t feel like crap any more and yes do both for sure!

Just installed this on my 2014 Proclimb. Wish I would of done it years ago. No more slop plus moves your steering post 1" forward . Excellent product and customers serve.

I’ve got the slop issue in mine aswell. But not in the bushings. It’s the back and forth before the skis move. It seems I’m tightening that nut constantly. Any one have a solution for it? Thinking about pulling it off and red locktighting it

Handlebar slop seems to be a real issue when garage riding.....out in the snow.......does it really matter?

When the stock bushing is in good shape its not noticeable when riding, have had 5 different proclimbs and two m series sleds and found same results on all. However when the stock bushing is wore right out ( which sometimes doesnt take a season) it is noticeable when riding

I’ve replaced the busing a few times. It seems my only remedy is tightening that nut through the rubber in the control arm area.

I replaced all the bushings which made a huge difference in the slop but still wasnt satisfied , last trip it started having a loot of play turning right too left , as the weekend went it got way worse, after ripping everything apart too change the reeds I found the major problem I was having... the bottom plate that connects to the steering post cracked. Also hearing it’s a fairly common problem and too order the 15 part as it’s reinforced.

There’s actually a full kit that cat sells. I had the same problem on my 12’ it has a reinforcement tab on top and below the aluminum gusset. I have a little bit of slop in the kingpin down at the bottom of the bulkhead. When I turn the bars the kingpin has room to move up and down a little bit. Was going to put a washer around it to try and snug it up. But didn’t want it to bind.

I put the it on my sled, includes all the rivets as well.

Same on my 2014, my dealer said they will all eventually do it, so if you are in there anyways, might as well get the kit and install it even if it seems it is ok now.

I was told the 15 bracket comes with the reinforcement tab, may have too double check, I ordered the 15
