Hand/thumb warmer proportion

I have a new 2018 G4. I wonder if anyone else is disappointed with the heat distribution between the hand and thumb warmer. On the second setting (four bars lit up), my hands were comfortable but my thumb was cold. On the third set point (six bars lit up), my thumb was comfortable but my hands were too hot.

My dealership says that the distribution of power between the two different sets of warmers cannot be changed, and that I have to make do with the situation as is. Has anyone else come across this concern? Has anyone heard of a way of altering the ratio of electrical power sent to the hands versus the thumb? I suppose I could insert a resistor in the electrical circuit of the hand warmers, but I am very reluctant to alter the wiring of a brand new machine.

your dealer is mis-informed.

you can increase the thumb warmer ratio to the bars. I've seen it done with my own eyes !

My dealer told me that the ratio was adjustable on the 2017 but not on the 2018. I wish they would have just left the two separate like previous years.
I find the hand heaters warm but not the thumb.

no dealer should / would charge you for a 15 minute plug in job !!

i do like the new switch style, you can hit them easily while riding ... i guess there was room for a thumb heater but what the heck .. can't have it all

So can you make everything hotter in general I find them not too warm
