Its a directional drilling tool. Basically steers itself rather than having a directional driller steer it manually.

It is a directional drilling motor, but rather a rotary steerable tool. So instead of sliding to steer and rotating after, it steers AS it rotates. It still requires a directional driller to drill the well while downlinking to it through pump pressure via a bypass actuater. It still has to be told what to do and costs more to run for a week than most people make in a year.
