The feds are rolling out the carbon tax soon too.
The thing that irritates me, I clearly remember my plant manager telling us in a meeting years ago that they were paying into a carbon tax, long before the NDP was in power.
Now the NDP and the feds are charging the end user.

They already do. Firewood permit. Permit is a tax. Maybe GST on top of that tax.

It's free in BC and last time I got a permit in Alberta it was only like $5.

I would not call myself and Ecotard. Have committed a few dollars to photovoltaic system for my home (Grid tye) and have low emissions car, along with home compost system, use public recycling programs. The tax grab by western societies across the globe is out of control. Canada is amongst the cleanest countries in the world. The three most important worries to Canadians (Tax, Health, and Employment), not climate change. Australia cancelled their Carbon Tax. I believe Canada will prevail in canceling this tax. China has big issue with climate. Coal dust is everywhere. Hard to breathe clean air. Your sinus are always plugged. Exporting Natural Gas to Asia makes perfect sense. However governments are not promoting Canada’s Natural Gas effectively. Need to punish these eco freaks on the lower mainland. I am also a polluter. Love my two stroke RMK800. However if battery operated sled arrives with same credentials as my RMK. Then I may switch.
