No wind?? was +3° C here in Bonnyville this afternoon. wind blowing like a bugger.

Yes it blew!!! We just stayed along tree lines for a bit. I felt like a minority today, only cat in the group but I was glad I could break trail for all the doo's so that they could enjoy the day too! Lol!! :)

I'm not 100% sure where you can get a map. Waiting on a reply from the club vice-president. The staging area is in the industrial area in Barrhead beside the fire department. I don't think the trails are open yet due to thin ice on the lake. We live north east of Barrhead and left from home. We have a great little trail system of our own until the club trail opens and for something different.

Maps and passes are available at Home hardware on Main Street and at Wild country powersports in barrhead.

Thanks for the info. Is the Barrhead club part of the ASA as we already have ASA passes on all 3 sleds? And do u have any info on when their trails will be open?
Thanks again
Derek

Yes the club is part of the Asa. I'm not sure when the trail system is open. I will do some investigating. The main issue with the trail is that ice thickness on the lake is not quite there yet. I'm sure it's getting close. The northern lights snowmobile club has 3 cabins and a few different staging areas as well.

Just received an email from NLSC President and apparently they have trail closures this year do to land owner issues. Which is really to bad 😔 the trail to shoal lake will be open soon but you can't take the trail north of the cabin. We have no rights from there to vega or misty ridge.

People this closure happened due to disrespect to land owners. We all know better. What you take in you take out. This is what happens when you don't respect the trail system. Now the northern lights snowmobile club needs to reroute the trail and that can be tough in a small community. Land owners talk to each other therefore the club is being blamed and it makes it tough to get permission to build a trail through fields when it's known that some people that ride the trail leave garbage and don't close gates. It's tough to get volunteers to monitor the trails as well to keep them clean, but it shouldn't be there responsibility to clean up after you. What sad news to get today 😞

Sorry to hear about the closures, we ride Barrhead trials a couple times a year, always a good time. Nice to see someone reporting on the conditions there.

if people don't change their "it's my right to be here" type attitudes we will see more and more of these types of closures where trails cross private land. Use your head folks, pack out what you pack in, use respect, and if you come across trash it ain't going to kill you to pick it up. I haven't hit the Barrhead trail system yet, but might have to try to get out there this year with RevGirl & Go-Vertical...

We started out in Dapp on Saturday, -27, rode to the northern lites cabin near Goodrich lake and back, so I guess you could say we were to Dapp and back. ;)
