Hello everybody,
I have the Garmin GPSmap 60Cx and I have Topo Canada 2 loaded onto it.

I also have a larger SD card in it (not sure what size)
But I want to go revert back to the Base map that came with the GPS. In other words, I want to totally get rid of all the topo maps on the GPS, and just go back to the maps that were on the GPS like when I bought it.

Does anybody know how to do this?

there should be a "maps" section in your setup menu, you should be able to uncheck the maps you have loaded into it. is your topo map loaded onto the internal memory, or on the sd card? the only other way would be to connect it to the 'puter and remove the maps you put into the internal memory. topo maps use a huge amount of memory.
hope this helps.

I removed ALL the Topo Maps, but then it shows the high and that's all.

Like the map has The nearest highway on it and that's all.

Yeah, that's why I don't want the Topo Map on there because we can't load up ALL the area that we frequent on it. Therefor it's useless to us for about 25% of the Area that we are normally in.

When I load the Maps on I just open up MapSource and Transfer Data to the GPS.
How Do I tell if I loaded it onto the SD Card or the Internal Memory?

I'm not sure how it works with the card, I don't have one that uses them. does the sd card fit in your card reader slot of your 'puter? that would be one way to see if the map is loaded on the card.

when you connect to mapsource, on the left of the screen there should be info on your loaded maps under the "maps" tab, not sure if it tells you where the maps are stored. you should be able to delete them that way if you haven't tried it already.

how much internal memory does the 60Cx have? I think some of them don't have much for internal memory if they are equipped with the removable cards.

I put a 2gig micro sd card in mine to replace the factory 128mb card. Loaded on all of alberta, sask, and the lower half of BC....worked out to just over 3000 maps. Now I don't leave home without it! I think the card was around $70 from Staples.
Cheers!
