You dont find it strange that some people get over 60 000km and you get 11000? I bet I could wear a set out in 1km, but I am not in high school anymore. Anyways someone better come up with a good looking tire that last because the continentals on my 2011 f350 arent going to cut it.[/QUOTE

I SOLD LOTS TO MY FLEET ACCOUNTS AND THEY WERE BACK 3 MONTHS LATER FOR NEW TIRES. I COULD BURN TIRES OFF IN A KM TO. THE 11000KM WERE ON MY BUDDYS D MAX, NOT MINE. BUT EITHER WAY IVE PUT ON PROBABLY 20 SETS TO OUR FLEET ACCOUNTS WITH THE SAME END RESULTS. AND LET ME TELL YA. THERE NOT TO HAPPY REPLACING F350 TIRES EVERY 3 MONTHS.

how do you test that many sets of tires? Do you put on thousands of bush miles on each set and check for wear, traction etc? Or is it all just highway miles?

i test winters, all terrains and muds. Any time some thing new comes out that we'll sell, i like to try them. And i do a lot of bush and hwy driving. Currently running the fierce attitude mud tires right now. Goodyear duratrac before that, toyo mt before that bfg all terrains before that yokohama mts procomp mts before that. Ive ran a lot of tires and im unbias about them. I dont pay for them so it doesnt matter what they cost.

Well I'll add my 2cents here :d.

I put on 150 000km year. I run through a set of tires in 6-8 months on a 60/40 highway/gravel mix. I also put on 2-300 hours/yr off road in gravel and cut blocks (mud + roots). I have run Wrangler silentarmour (and ATS) on toyota minitrucks and 4 runners, 1/2 tons and 3/4 tons and loved them. 80 000 plus and quiet and reasonable traction in most conditions.

I am currently running Duratracs on a 2500 Dodge and have 70 000 km on them. I expect to get 2 more months and 15 000 more km out of them (gotta make the Sept sale) even though I cut one 10 000 km ago. No flats (knock on wood...2 flats and Im in new tires...house rule lol), mostly empty, but not afraid to load up and use the cummins when I have to. They have a little more road noise, but are pretty quiet for a grip. great traction on gravel and mud road. Good traction on trails. They even had reasonable traction on ice. Didn't drop my fuel consumption. I run the LT tires not P rated. go for as many belt equivilant as u can. It's worth it.

I saw a set on a 3/4 ton chev with 50 000 on them, back wore out to 20 percent, front still at 60 percent. Dude hauled barrels of chemical into the Rainbow Lake Zama oilpatch and never rotated them.

Thanks for all the feed back, I had ordered a set of Duratracks and at the last minute I backed out. I was worried about road noise. So I went with the Nittro Terra Grapplers 305-70-17 which the biggest selling point for me was the increased lbs rating, 3640lbs per tire. So far I'm very pleased with them, zero increase of road noise, they do pick up the rocks but that might be just cause they were so new when I drove through the camp ground. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Put on a set of Duratacs last fall 325's 8ply on my f-250, was impressed with the ice/snow performance, i ride mostly hwy/gravel, seem to be holding up ok but don't expect as much as my last set of bfg AT's or Yokohamas I had before.. But on a side note, picked up a nail the other day on the road home, not even a small leak..i'm putting these Goodyears back on next set, no doubt..

Had a real good look at the Goodyears and backed out also. The duratrac is too soft for big loads and power. Older dually cummins, went with Hankook duratrac AT. 36ft dually goosneck and marine injectors, these are good ones, still had no marks after a mini-hoe and a tracked skid steer across town.
Last set was BFG MT, will miss the traction, 50 % and still spin the mud out and chew. Wont miss the 28 K and bald part.

You drive a 3500 cummins diesel and you are worried about road noise? :d

Too anyone else who was considering the Goodyears in the future, you can't base your decisions on some of the not so informative responses on here. I have looked at the Duratrac's, the Territory (CrappyTire version) and the Authority (wallyworld version) all made by goodyear, all same rubber compound and simular tread design. Each priced differently.

I ran the older Wrangler AT's on my 3/4 prior to BFG AT's and personally I wasn't happy with the wear of the current BF AT's and was interested in going back to GoodYear so looked what they had to offer. The down fall to the Goodyears for me, was the 2 ply side wall vs the BF 3ply. Some people complain they feel soft, most likely due to this. Also people hauling lots of weight found them to not handle as well, ever with the heavier load range. The GoodYears are a 6-ply E range, (from the specs) the BF's are a 10-ply E, which are made up of 2 full steel belts, and whatever else makes up the 10-ply equiv for added stiffness.

Another problem is people try to mount 285's on a 6.5" wide rim and complain that they suck for traction or wear like chit.

Each tire manufacture has different specs for its ply's material and side walls.
Chances are, I will go back to a BFG because even though I didn't like the wear, they are predictable in the environments I drive in.

I wouldn't mind trying out the Nitto's, they look pretty cool.

????? I dont find my 3500 any loader than my 05 duramax 3/4ton, if it is it's not buy much. Yes I do "worry" about road noise, by that I mean with the all out mud tire howl. I've been there, done that. I've run 35" to 44"boggers,tsl, Ground hawgs, MT, so I dont need to hear a bunch of road howl crap all day long, every day!

If U are running down the hiway with your window open and you cant hear it, youve got other problems than just tire noise? IMO

Oh ya! I once had a 69 chev with a "Big Green leaker" in it!!! I bought it for the engine along, but it was loud!

Not sure why the guy put a Detroit in a classic, but the engine made a nice power plant back up for the farm!
