funrider, I haven't had any issues with trenching on my 08. That could be a set-up issue, not really sure as I haven't heard many guys complaining about trenching either. I have mine set up with almost zero ski pressure, still handles well on the trail and gets on top of the snow pretty good. I've been lucky as well as I haven't had the heat issues in the clutches that some guys are talking about. If you get the XP the first thing I would do is pull all of the plastic off the clutch cover and relocate the tool kit under the seat. there is a small cut out in the plastic, just cut a little bit of foam out and put the kit there. I have over 800 km on my first 377 belt and it still looks good. Pretty much can't go wrong with any of the new sleds. Last trip out with two riding buddies, one on an 09 800 RMK, one on an 09 M8 sno Pro, I think it just comes down to preference, both were nice sleds.

FYI, Martin Motorsports has an ad right now for a 2008 XP 154" Everest brand new for $9495 including 3 year warranty! Or you can take an extra $1100 off if you don't want 3 years (I am assuming you still get 1 year warranty). Pretty cheap for a sled that will work with minor tweaks (vent kit, probably a little clutch work which should be warrantied, and a 20 tooth top gear that should be warrantied as well). The 3 year bumper to bumper warranty is amazing. Just imagine not having to worry about anything until 2012! I also ride with a guy that has an 06 800 151 Adrenaline, and it is a rock solid machine as well. He just cant climb as high, that's all.
