Looks like a 3 inch will fit with out hitting the chaincase / belt drive on the 2013. So for the people on a budget will be able to put on a 3 inch. This will also help to gear down by going to a smaller driver. To top it all off I think camoplast will be making a 162 or 163x15x3 inch, So vary good news for pro fans. For 1500 bucks you can have a 163 3 inch on ur pro...........by by etec lol sorry maxwell.

This is great news! I have been wondering and asking how the 3" will work with the new belt drive. So your telling us all we will have to do is swap out to a smaller driver and everything will fit? How much clearance will this give?

Just changing to smaller drivers will also change the attack angle. Will this will effect how the Pro gets up on top of the snow? Probly not enough to worry about, as you will benefit from the traction of the 3" That is why a drop and roll will probably work a little better than just a driver swap, flatter attack angle and better snow evac.

From doing this mod on our skidoos I find it hops up ontop even better. The front of the track on a steeper angle has a climbing action almost

Maxwell, I have tugged on alot of ski's and nothing pops up un top of the snow better than the RMK. Dont know why, just dont want to effect that ability. And a steeper attack angle is detrimental to flotation, that is common knowledge. Maybe you are the exeption to the rule?LOL.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the steeper the attack angle, the more it trenchs. I know there is a fine line you can go either way, I always thought the less angle you have, the better it gets up on the snow.

Its all in theory. I'm just telling you my observations. Not that my sled won't dig a nasty trench.

This is vary true. but for the people that dont have the cash and untill the make a drop and roll for the belt drive this would also work.

Ok , so I hate to burst the bubble, but according to other sources, the 3" WILL NOT fit the 2013 with just a driver change. You will have to trim the ends off the track or do a drop and roll. No one knows absolutely for sure, but it doesnt look promising.

this is what i was told also, and the new e tec xm will be a awesome sled, this is my new ride so ill be ready to try it against any pro with the 3" track when im in the hills, my buddy has a 11 etec with 162 3" and that sled rips, and this is without the drop and roll..the doo is a pretty strong running sled!!!he can maintain 45-48mph corrected track speed all the time with it, ive drove it many times and compared as well, my pro was in the neighborhood of 38-42 mph.. and was far from stock also...so saying by by to doo is a little over confident i think!!!

Was there a reason or just someone talking. Cause from looking at the new pro there will be no rubbing issues with smaller drivers and there were pros with smaller drivers and 3" tracks out there the problem was the bottom of the chain case stuck out and the track rubbed through and drain the case, but now they dont have that. So i would like to hear the reason why you cant go to smaller driver.

Talked to FTX today and shain at HM turbos and both ran the 3 inch with 7 tooth avid drivers with no problems at all. Robby from avid will be making new 7 tooth drivers for the new drive shaft on the 2013 pros. Shain is also working on gearing options for the 2013 belt drive system as I type. There is no difference in the bulkhead or tunnel for 2013 so yes they will fit also with the smaller drivers it will bring the stock gearing of the belt drive to around 2.36 so thats not to bad.

Going back to read some of your earlier posts in other threads, your Pro sure seemed to be the bomb and certainly avery capable contender, what changed so fast. Is the XM that much stronger, more power, better track ? You seemed quite impressed with the non turbo Pro, great reviews, now that its sold, you seem more on the negative side, what happened to change your opinion ?
