Good knee brace?

I'm looking at a EVS axis sport knee brace. Are they any good? I dislocated my knee a couple years ago and need a good solid knee brace for sledn.

Custom fit CTI. Spendy but worth it. And I got a good chunk of it back from blue cross if you have it.

Axis and Leatt are good entry level. I have a custom fit Donjoy Armour Force. Not cheap but feels like a new leg when wearing. Lol

I got the alpine stars after dislocating my knee early last season. once they are adjusted (so much adjust ability) I dont even know there on other than the little bit of extra bulk on the knee.

I use the Mobius knee brace when racing motocross. Excellent coverage, light, comfortable, not bulky and best of all their customer service is top notch.

Currently recovering from knee surgery ( yeah I know crappy timing right at the beginning of the season....). I was thinking of getting a brace just for peace of mind more than anything. Do these ones mentioned above offer a certain level of protection from from impacts? Like if something under the snow jars the sled and the tunnel smacks the side of your knee? ( this happened to me last year and it really sucked) ive seen some Braces that are essentially a hopped up tensor sleeve, and some that have actual plastic linkages that span the joint. What style are most of you guys wearing? My physio has one thats like 100 bucks ish , is a tensor sleeve with fat velcro straps above and below the knee, is that about what im looking for or is there better?

I have a custom fitted brace from when I had ACL surgery and a set of Asterisk motorcross braces, I wear the asterisk while sledding because they feel like they give my knees more support since they wrap around the whole knee instead of just having a few straps to secure them. They also have knee cap protectors. They aren’t cheap. A tensor style isn’t really going to give your knee any support.

X2 on the CTI best ones i have used. I ride motorcross and trashed them pretty hard and they still hold up good. I have a used set of Asterick cell that id sell but they aint cheap.

After my knee operation I was fitted for a donjoy knee brace for quad and sxs riding. I think it was around 1200.00 or so. Works great.

I wear the custom fit CTI braces with the MX kit on them for sledding. had a cheap set of Thor braces prior to that and the difference in price is most definitely the difference in quality, fit and protection.

all that have been mentioned are a true knee brace. have hinges on the side that do not let you knee flex side to side only forward and back as the knee is supposed to. most as well have knee cups or optional knee cups that offer impact protection if you have a hard landing or go over the bars. I had a cheaper set of evs `knee braces` if you could call them that that had so much flex i popped my knee out with a side load pressure tree riding, it is well worth it to spend the right money the first time. Alpinestars and Leatt are some of the cheaper offerings that are in the true knee brace category. going to CTI or Asteriks are amazingly nice as they are medical certified and have options to do custom fit, but are much more pricey. Before going that route i would look at you health insurance lots of time they will cover a portion of this.

I should have mentioned that. Because I had previous knee issues I was able to get my CTI’s covered 100% on health insurance. They were $1700 each and I didn’t pay a dime.

Paid just under a grand for my Donjoy. Did get it covered by benefits as well.

As many have said, CTI custom's. Ive had my ACL replaced, and they really do give a level of comfort when being wrong foot forward and sidehilling over hard frozen lines. Much better to get some that fit perfectly and were made for you then to have cheap ones that you are always having to adjust.

Health insurance will cover a good portion of them too. For those in Calgary/Lethbridge, go see Hi Tech Bracing. Robin is amazing there and will get you fixed up for both sledding/motocross etc.
