Yet the government keeps asking truckers to haul into towns where it might exist, the virus that is. But then people worry about going to the middle of nowhere riding.
Basically think of it this way...if Trudeau says don't do something, do it...if he says do it, you probably shouldn't because it is a bad idea. Safest place to be away from any chance of getting the virus is out of towns/cities, and into the wilderness.
If some of you can't figure that out for yourselves, and instead think Trudeau knows best, well i can't help you.
You really are slow aren't you? You have no comprehension of what the health officials are trying to do. You are the reason the government will need to step in.

Most Guys are mad, that us Whiny Bitches don't want them to go out. Myself I have no problem with it Until----- Hits The Fan. I am thinking of the Medical System that we are leaning pretty hard on right now. They need our full support.

Do you understand the difference between an essential service, IE keeping groceries on the shelves, and you going sledding?

Not sure what part of staying home you (and some others) can't comprehend. McBride has requested that visitors stay away. They are a small town with an aging population. They don't want someone to come in and spread this virus. I'm sure Valemount is not far behind in requesting the same thing if they already haven't. Each time you stop at the gas station, the restaurants, hotels, B&B's, etc, you could be bringing the virus into those establishments. Those people go home after serving you and have families too that they want to keep safe. And, god forbid, what if you get hurt on the hill....the system is already over taxed...healthcare workers are working their bags off trying to keep in front of this....why add to it? Why take the risk of adding to it?

You might be feeling 100% healthy but you could still be a carrier.....why risk the safety of others? Those people that are working at those businesses you stop at have family's too. Think twice before you go shopping if it's necessary.

Perhaps you are smarter than the 1000's of health care workers and government officials saying this is bad. Perhaps some of you are going to end up in a few months saying "I told you so...no big deal after all...media blew it out of proportion again"....

But what if you're wrong? And the death toll here in Canada starts to rise and rise? Do you want that on your conscience that you may have added to that number because you thought you knew better?

I would rather that we say in a few months that we over-reacted than be sorry that we lost many loved ones because we didn't.

Your Grandparents were called to war....you were asked to sit on the couch....you can do this.....

Yet the people from McBride are frequenting PG and shopping in big busy stores, buying gas there, and more, then going home.
That is way worse than someone riding in the mountains around the area. Tell the people who live in McBride to stay home, lock their doors, and not go out.
Problem solved!

Well, you are showing what a special person you are. No one on here is against sledding, against outdoor recreation of any type. You do what you think is best. I hope the risk is worth the reward.

...........but to compare the folks coming in from small towns to get groceries and needed supplies is of equal importance to your desire to enjoy your passion is a whole new level of self entitlement

But, then again, I see there are others agreeing with your stance....so maybe I am just out of touch on what is right and wrong......

I beleive you are correct with people going to PG from McBride to do a big shopping trip due to the lack of some stores in this small community.
I dont beleive they are driving 2.5 hours during the current situation though, as most of the big box stores are closed.
I beleive they will be like the rest of us and following the rules. One would hope anyways. They stay home, shop for food and find things to do in their house, garage etc.

As every person is differnt and is entitled to their own thoughts and opinions which makes us individuals.
I beleive in doing my part and following some of the new simple rules put in place by our health care advisors.

I am not saying you or any others comments about going sledding are right or wrong.
All people are mature and can make their own decisions. But making those correct decisions may not be as easy, for some, as it is for others.

I came home from a wonderful winter in Revelstoke on the 16th of March after my best and deepest sledding year ever.

I choose to self isolate for 2 weeks on my own just as a precaution.
Now Revelstoke has cases of Covid 19.
We generally go out for supper each night with friends and guests. I do not know if I was around any of the folks that have confirmed cases or if they were in any restaurant I was in.

I say enough bickering between us on the site and lets support each other and do the right thing.

I dont think it will be about, "See. I told you so."
Rather, I am glad I played it safe and did not get this damn virus.

Be safe everyone and gods speed.
Positive comment and thoughts greatly appreciated.

Would love to hear from everyone on the site and see them next winter than hear about people not being with us anymore.

Virus is like an Avalancehe, the signs and warning are there. but if it happens when you are sledding the outcome is usually not good.

Hopefully our medical scientist will have a vaccine for it.
Good questions though..

I am sure the medical and scientific folks are learning everyday as this is new to everyone.
Takes time to develop vaccines and procedures.

Sort of like safety in the work place. Took many years before procedures/practices were developed and enfored in the work places.

Things with uncertanty cause many stresses in folks and always lead to questions.
People would always like the "off the shelf answer" to put their minds at ease but it is not always possible and takes some time and research.

Saw this many times when dealing with folks as as safety specialist.

Thanks again for a great question.
I am by no means an expert in the field of medical or sciences but try to think clearly and put or use the proper mitigations to protect ones self. and others.

Stay positive and we will get through this together.

Who is saying 5 years??? Come on man there is all kinds of bs info out there, don't believe everything you see on your news feed.
Let the health system get caught up, then we'll slowly get back on track.

I won't chance it. 1 case is too many, too risky even ordering groceries. what if the driver has it. you got to be out of you mind to sled this year or next.

3-cases of Covid have exposed heli pilots and ski guides in the interior. The effected are now under self-isolation. These guys are professionals that can no longer help with SAR due to the exposure.

Tinfoil too thick on your windows LOL

THAT is the kind of attitude that should get you locked up!

this may all be a big joke to you, buy I'm a hymophiliac, a ciliac, and asmatic and if I get this it's all over.

why should I live the rest of my life in fear because selfish criminals want to go sledding?

we need a 100% military lock down for 18months. only sensible way to beat this

Rec Sites and Trails BC has basically just shut down all backcountry use in BC as of today. Not a good idea to "be that guy"...…….

Let's turn that same question around. Why should the rest of the population suffer for 18 months to accommodate the lowest denominator of health?

Oh FFS, I am on a heavy imunospressant drug so have to be careful but all you guys flapping off that a couple people from the same family driving over to the hill and going for a little ride are endangering the world are being ridiculous.
