I'm amazed the first house stayed up. Now that's gotta be a well built house! There's gotta be some tremendous pressure on it.

Did a simulation last night of a 2m burial in a big plowed up snowbank and it was crazy hard digging. Took 6 of us 8 minutes to get a clear airway. So under the 10 minute threshold but in absolute best case situation and with no search time. Pretty scary to translate into a real world situation and why a 2m deep burial is often regarded as not survivable.

Yeah if you are 2m under your chances arent that good. I do know a guy that was buried 3m deep and lived to tell the tale though.

That is pretty amazing I would think you had 4+ guys watch it happen and be digging instantly

The guy was under for over an hour. His air bag deployed and deflated under the snow enough to create an air pocket. The guy never even passed out.

He could hear them digging him out the whole time. When they got him out he said "whats up mother ****ers" This was on Boulder.

I also had another 2 friends buried the the day before on Boulder. E-Zmoke off here lived. Chris didnt....

That was a tough day! We lost a good man that day. I am VERY thankful to have been rescued. It was 6yrs ago now, and I remember that day like it was yesterday. Being buried changed my life, it changed the way I ride, and changed who I ride with. I can’t even begin to describe the feeling of being buried under the snow. Here a pic of my sled from that day.

Eyes on your guys!!

RIP Chris

I watched a good friend get buried in 2008. Was scary as hell! He was deep thank god and stood up out of the snow just as I started searching. Always will remember how hard the snow was after!
