On sat 03 nov 2018,
I headed into silent pass
Staged at km 47 or so
Once we got to higher elevation
The snow on the road got better
Made trail to the waterfall...
But opted to go to the alternate way up
On the far right... made it part way....
Just not enough snow to help make your
Way up...ended up getting caught up in willows, trees just covered by the snow & little creeks still flowing making sippy holes.
Depth would be about 2 feet once you left the
logging road to punch thru the trees...
Progressively got deeper but not by much as you gained altitude..
Lots of open water and downed trees.
From what i could tell...the warm weather and
Rain has taken its toll on the snow below 6000 feet

Wife n I in 2007 broke in there with some locals. We ran Kickass Sled Rentals out of our house in Horse Creek.

What a day of filling creeks and i know she rode uptop, but I must have walked back down

04 nov 2018 sunday Quartz creek
Unloaded about km4
2 other boys unloaded further up
At the bridge. Snow got better as we got further up.
Lots of creek crossings.
Storm from night before dumped about
A foot of snow on deck of cabin.
As we poked around and got higher up
The depth of snow increased significantly
The boys probed 140 cm...
But were standing in a trench
Up to their armpits

Have never rode Renshaw before Christmas. Not sure I would want to unless an above average early season. Both my buddies ripped their A-arms off trying to break trail last November lol

If we do we'll go through blackwater and play in the trees, only a couple stumps and logs in there lol with the snow coming friday I think it might be time to venture to golden or revy this weekend

Its thin out there. 40-50cm in forecast this week. if it happens it will make a huge difference. Snowpack is 60-70cm max from 6000-8000ft with melt outs around trees, rocks and creeks etc.

Quartz is looking like the best snow to date. All the accumulation is in the Esplanades just to the north of Quartz. The further south you go the more dry it has been same with anything near the icefields. Some decent flurries now so things should shape up quickly over the next few weeks.
