I would have guessed that ,I have been around mining and exploration most of my life and those guys have absolutely no hope ever of making it.They could have each taken a pan and sat by the creek and found more gold ...

The show is starring a bunch of idiots! Or at least the producers/directors are insisting they act like a bunch of idiots.

Couldn't imagine myself getting involved with that gang.

Probably make more cutting firewood. :d I watched it once and seemed like way too much work for very little return. But, you never know. I'm sure they live in the dream of one day, it could happen. Too risky for my blood.

I come from a gravel crushing heavy construction oil patch back ground since I was 10 anyway.

Lots of the equipment We use was the same only bigger same premise.

some like the duplex jig I have never seen.

I work as a consultant in the patch now.
And I cant even watch that show the leadership is horrible jack should just be put in a home not once would he touch a machine around me.

As much as dorsey was a whiney dork did you guys ever notice somtimes and I say somtimes he was the only on asking the right questions?

And when tubby the son of jack dont know his name anymore didnt have the correct answer he would play tough guy and try and intimadate people.

just because you put up the money doesnt meen you should be incharge classic example tubby and Jack.

What I wana know is why was this unit (plant if you wana call it that) not tested with some big tonnage put thru it long before being hauled up.

I would never bring my young family to a remote construction mine site thats just asking for trouble.

I feel sorry for them I would love to spend a month there incharge.

Jack would be camp potato peeler tubby would run the mexican drag line.

Anyone wana go gold mining im game!

My Grandpa has a gold mine in Dease Lake, BC that he has been running for 20 odd years. He packs a flatbed Hino full of supplies, barges it across the lake to his cabin and stays there for 3 months in the summer. He built all his own equipment: sluice boxes, lake barge, crushers and separators etc., He has been retired for about 40 years, and manages to make a decent cheque off this operation, but he works damn hard all by himself and is super-organized and thorough. Every year he adds a new innovation. Last year, it was a contraption to keep the bears away! I did spend a summer with him, but it's not for the faint of heart. Cold, mosquito ridden, bear infested and lonely. If anyone wants a go at a gold mine, he takes one or two people up every year for kicks...

Personally, I think Discovery Channel would have a better show with a more authentic operation like Grandpa's, but the old coot would never do it!!

What a bunch of horse poo.......discovery is getting worse every year........ what next bear grylls brain surgeon!! or deadliest catch return of flipper.........I see stuff everyday that could be a show with more pertenent content than that dribble.........Hell someone from this site should contact discovery and talk about sleddin and/or quadding...the passion the glory the rest of the filler that would make a killer show that people could relate too.............I personally liked the longest road show, at least it was more interesting than gold mining with idiots!!! IMO!

I find it to be very funny that a sequel will happen next year with Dorsey leading his own mine operation in competition to Jack and Todd. Not that he couldn't do it he has just a much chance as the other dipsh1ts. If the article is true and they only make $20K they will have a deficit of about $70K, claiming its costing $1G per Day. I believe the only reason I watch is that Jack and his hairlip is funny as hell, and that I think Discovery will make it look like they find gold, but it just goes to show you that these Reality shows are full of Bullsh1t.

Whats wrong with Dorsey at least he was one of the only ones not hooked on pills and will he ever see his original investment cause eveyone knows todd and jack are making good money just off discovery. So if there is a spin off much like Jr vs Sr hopefully Dorsey kicks there a**.

Or Maxwell starts his own religion, and designates vulnerable Joey (TheLonelyIsland) as an elder in his higher echelon. Together, they round up susceptible and easily duped Polaris customers and they all drink the purple Kool-aid after the batteries run out, but before the midnight mass is cancelled ?!?
