Some good tips. The sweating tip is big one. If it's not too cold take off your coat when "Un-Stucking". The sweat soaks the inside of your coat and you will be chilled for the rest of the day. Breathable under layers to allow moisture to escape. Spot is a good idea. GPS....someone if your group should have one. FRS radios are useful if you get separated. Range can be crappy so don't wait too long to try to make contact with a missing rider. If you're riding with an experienced group they'll know what they're doing. Great tip about "not riding beyond your abilities". A bad wreck can spoil your day in a big hurry. Have a great time and say "GOODBYE" to ditch bangin!
Your biggest concern will be addiction! After a couple times riding in the mountains you will question what part of ditch banging was fun. Soon you will no longer look at climbing the manure pile behind the barn, but instead, a 1000ft. chute in the mountains. Soon you will become like many mountain riders, or should I say "sledaholics". Contact "Sledaholics Anonymous". Don't have time to give you the number, goto go sledding.:d:d Have fun and be safe.
