It never sticks around and I agree, September is a beauty month. The bugs are gone as well as the high temps. It is just nice to see the moisture moving around. I'm still thinking about breaking trail the first part of November......:D

Sure hope to get a ride in with you this season, so I'll offer a sacrifice to the Snow Gods on behalf of all of us.

Reading the Meteorologists discussion about El Nino and the probabilities of weather forecasting (whew... long sentence) for the Rockies can be summarized as this:
If the jet stream from the Pacific ricochets off of the 'Blob' and heads north, the probability is that moisture from the Pacific will veer up and create a low pressure zone which will collide with the cold arctic highs. The result is a high probability of dumping epic amounts of snow in the mountains.
If... the Jet stream ricochets and goes south, the result will be epic rain fall in the south Rockies. Some of which will be making its way to the Prairies.
The forecasters still hold that the probability of the winter will be warmer across western Canada, the mystery will be where and how the moisture will fall based on the 'Blob'.

Well I'm from northern Saskatchewan and any moisture we get here after about November 15th will be in the form of snow... Pretty rare we get warm enough for rain in the winter months... -25 would be a nice warm winter average for us lol... its crazy, PA is almost straight east of Edmonton and yet our winters are probably 10 degrees colder... stupid saskatchewan weather...

Yeah I agree, I'm in south east of Regina and we are well well below Calgary all the time.
