Hey Snow & Mud ville'

I don't know this family but their little guy needs our help. They have 9 days to raise enough to get their boy a life-changing injection.

If you can find it within you to give a bit, please do.

Why a drug should cost 2.8 million dollars is unfathomable....bitching and complaining about that will not change the situation.......they need the money now.

OK I'm in.... It's $25 I just would have spent on beer or whoppers anyway.

Situations like these are tough.... It seems like a no brainer that Health Canada should cover the cost especially since a one time $2.8M (CRAZY) shot can eliminate an ongoing $375K annually they are already shelling out for his current treatment....

But there are tens of thousands, if not millions of folks in this country in similar situations and how does one pick & choose who gets help and who doesn't right back to the basic debate about diabetes medications. Why can addicts get methadone or heroine free because they "have a disease" but diabetics are forced to pay out of pocket..... pretty sure diabetes is a disease as well. Providing methadone to addicts they say is paid for by reduced social and emergency services costs so where does that leave folks who have a disease which was not brought on by a personal choice. Health Canada funds cancer treatment for folks who have smoked their whole lives, liver treatment for folks who have drank their whole lives and treatment for any number of health conditions brought on by obesity and poor lifestyle choices so how can we in good conscience deny a child who through no fault of their own has a disease requiring treatment no matter the cost. If the pharmaceutical company is trying to get health Canada approval for their drug maybe they should provide it free of charge or at a reduced rate as a trial, I know R&D is hugely expensive but it's not hard to understand why many folks despise the pharmaceutical industry....

My brother lost his daughter to SMA 20 years ago. She was 3 years old when she passed which is way to young. Will be donating.

yah, I agree..the world is not fair to all. Some pay while others get things free...
We, as individuals, can't change that so we must choose. If you choose to help this young lad, fantastic...he needs it. If you cannot, or don't want to or helped other causes that's totally fine. Like I said earlier, I don't know this family other than what I saw on the news and read on the go-fund-me page. This one tugged on my heart and I opened up my wallet and I thought maybe some guys on here might do the same.
Thank you.

Is Sma Smith Mcguiness?
Spinal Muscular Atrophy ( SMA) is different. Basically all the muscle you are born with is all you get. My niece was amazing, very clever and funny but all she could do is lay in the middle of the room and take in all the action. She had a feeding tube as she didn’t have enough muscle to eat. Eventually they get pneumonia and can’t fight it.
