Gixxer 600 or 750???

hey everyone i am looking to get a bike this spring but don't know wether to go with a suzuki gsxr 600 or a 750? and what year is better in 03-08?
if you guys can help me out that would be awesome! :cool:

if you have never had a bike before I would say start with the 600..if you have ridden street before you will appreciate the extra torque a larger displacement bike provides, not having to rev hight to get the power is nice so then I would go 750

600 would be a better choice if you ever plan to put it on a track. other than that I would personally go 750, but this is coming from a guy who rides a 1000. :)

My buddy as a 2012 or 13 for sale cheap right now it's got about 2000 km I bet you could get it for 7000 or better .... It's a gsxr 750

Depends on your riding experience, ability to ride and what you want to use it for. I wouldn't suggest a 600 for highway rides, a little buzzy and down on power, but not the end of the world.

I don't buy into the start small and buy bigger mentality. Just my opinion. The bike will still get up to speed quick regardless of the displacement. I would rather appreciate the torque from the beginning than wishing I had more from beginning.

750 all the way. 6 hundy has plenty but i remember wen i started riding i did the 600 first thinkin i should start small but i quickly outgrew it and wanted more, moved on to a ninja zx-10 the next year

i started on a 650 night hawk than to an R1 now i have a zx-10 on nitrous so much fun

750 is actually in the middle of 600 and 1000. 750 is light as a 600, but as strong as a 1000 cc.

By the way we tried gauging a 750 with an r1 in a drag stripe. It left it for some sec's.

I had a 600 and wish that I went with the 750. All rockets are the same 0-60, its the second gear that makes the difference. r1 and the 750 aren't even in the same game. As you learn to ride and get to be a stronger rider you will want to keep going bigger. If your worried about power and what not start smaller, can always upgrade. Would be harder to size down later on.

Still waiting to hear back from the OP about his current skill level and intentions for the bike. I believe a GSXR 600 or 750 is a lot of bike for someone who is just learning. Perhaps if they've done a GOOD Motorcycle training course, they have the right skills to handle one. If you are looking for a 600+ Sport Bike, maybe look at a Triumph Daytona 675. The Triple engine has a much more linear power curve, so it doesn't all come on at the top end like the Japanese Sport Bikes. If it's not your first bike, then go 750.

I had a 2006 GSXR 600 for my first street bike and I'm glad I stuck to the 600. I was very surprised at how quick that bike was for being the size it was. I can't comment on the 750 as I haven't ridden one but the 600 did everything I wanted really well. Yeah it was a little down on torque in the lower RPM ranges but it was so light and fun to ride. Another thing is that being a 600, it was cheaper to insure (anything helps being a young male haha). My only complaint with the bike was that any extended highway riding caused my hands to go slowly numb from a certain vibration. I looked into some gel handlbar isolators but I never did buy a set since I traded the bike off after a friend was killed on his bike in an accident. Hearing that bike sing at 16000rpm was sweet though:D The fastest I ever got it up to was 237 on the speedo (empty highway before anyone jumps on me) and I still had 6k rpm left to redline:eek:. Don't underestimate the smaller CC sport bikes, they move insanely fast too.
