No no no, what they don’t know won’t hurt them. I’m saying with a r pal they have the right to do daily checks and walk into your home to check as they please. You loose more rights and have a better chance of legal home invasion by the rcmp this way. Like you said separate and who’s the wiser. So we should all just lay down our arms and give up?

That video I posted explained a lot to me. I'll take both and probably stay with the non-restricted as it looks to be a real pain to get restricted. And as the guy says you go buy the gun and leave it there with your info. You must be active in a gun club and it is for competition only and have a valid up to date membership that is confirmed. Do not say that its to protect your household he says, your instantly red flagged.

Exactly. A couple extra rules to follow but other than that it's not a big deal. Unfortunate that restricteds can only be used at the range. Mine would get alot more use if they could be used as NR can.Get both
Its not hard to buy a restricted, my last one a few month ago .22 GSG pistol,. bought 1pm, next morning I got phone call to go pick it up. Have a trigger lock, make sure you have a valid club membership, you don't have to be active, and tell them its for target shooting.
Not sure why everyone thinks its so difficult
If you buy a restricted gun they know you have it. Not the case with a non restricted gun.

How do you like your GSG? Was thinking of a 1911 22
Did my restricted last last April and just received my new card last week. Now it’s go time.
Sent my papers in in august. Figured I should see it soon, but sounds like more waiting.
