Actually it is important to note that the "puter in the Pro likes to stay in a certain temp range. Too cold is just as bad as too warm for power and engine life. The by-pass system is being used by Poo with their new motor because in helps keep the motor temps more consistent. The Doo stat housing is relatively inexpensive and it 'stat has shown to keep just right temps for most that have and continue to use it.

The side benefit is more flow for marginal conditions or added HP.

I have the TRS28 dollar upgrade on my 2011 pro and am gonna take it out. even in the deepest snow i run 135-150 and up to 180 on the trail, maybe i got a dud and the thermostat is sticking??? I was not at all impressed with mine yet. I know lots of guys have had great success with this kit but not me. I am pretty sure that these warm temps are the reason i can't rev past 8000rpm either.

Did you remove the stock thermostat?

yup i sure did. I did read someplace that some of the thermostats stick, i even wrapped mine with foil tape to keep the exhaust temps away...i will try a new thermostat unit from skidoo before i take the kit off just to make sure.

Our kits in good snow will run 100-108 deg. On hard pack with scratchers 125-132. Kits are 273.00 including tax with bypass hose and aluminum t. Provided that is you are running a snow flap and trapping the snow in the tunnel.

Thank you

For comparisons my sled runs about 105 to 112 in snow and scratchers down with a 8" flap about 115 to 122 on the way up and same temps as in the snow on the way down. Pipe, head and stuff.

It was about 95 bucks in parts (40ish for the Doo set-up and the rest from off the shelf at Napa and Lordco). Had a few hose clamps at home though.

Worthy upgrade anyway you do it.

All I've done to my sled in regards to cooling, is lose the ported snowflap and install an IQ snowflap. That alone dropped my trail temps on icy trails, from mid-130's to 125-127 consistently. '12 Pro with PA 13.1:1 head, HPS can and 162 X 3 track.

Do they stock them @ the POO dealerships, or did you have to order it in????
