I have a 2015 900 Ranger and a friend has a 2013. Same tires exactly- 28" Mega Mayhems. My 2015 revs quite a bit higher at the same speed. Was there a reduction in gearing? He needs to go in low range a lot and I easily stay in high because I am reving higher.

Very doubtful, you will probably find the difference is the clutching. Springs and weights.

you have more horsepower, they have changed the secondary clutch also, geairng etc, is still the same as far as I know

2015 ranger lists as 68-69hp while the 2013 lists at 60hp.

:Drzrgade knows more about his than I do.:theCabin:

Lots more power in the 15 model.... That explains your difference along with the clutching as Larry said.....

Actually it dosen't as the 2013 has quite a bit higher top speed. At 50 m.p.h. the 2015 is 4-500 r.p.m. higher. Reason I am asking is my friend would like to duplicate the 2015 clutching if that is the difference. A lot less chance of frying a belt in high range with the lower gearing.

Actually it has, maybe look into a few ranger forums, you may find us telling you the truth, Secondary on the 2015 will not fit the 2013., the primary may though?
He could try a mud kit for the clutch

My brother bought a 2015 900 and I got a 2014 and I think the clutching is better on the 14. They don't got as much speed but better in the mud. He's putting a clutch kit in his. I find the 2015 to steer a lot harder to.

Interesting, I wondered if there was a big difference,

He was finding after only about 200km with stock tires his belt was getting jerky when taking off. He called wild country where he bought it (which so far has been a great dealer ) and they had 2 2015 come back with secondary issues. He was putting 28" zillas on so he put a clutch kit in as recommended by the dealer.

But the 2015 does have more bottom end power feels more sporty. They say 13% more power and I believe it
