I just can't believe that that storm in the gulf caused gas prices to jump 12 cents here overnight. I can understand the shortage along the coastal areas of the gulf and the subsequent gouge to motorists but it couldn't have affected the whole damn continent. Gas today is 1.419

$1.70 here for regular gas. $1.81 for diesel. Poor truckers up here are losing their minds.

Funny how it can go up .12cents overnight but it will take months to go back down, if it ever does....

THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW

I really hate to burst your bubble but this won't hurt your target's at all. I hauled fuel for 10 years from Esso and Petrocan, All the independents buy there fuel from the big oil companies, they don't have there own refineries. I have hauled gas to Esso, Save On, Chrevon, Fas Gas, Shell, Mohawk, you name it and it all came from Petrocan or Esso, yes from PC to Esso and vice versa, the only differance is the additives. The big refineries don't care if you don't buy at one it will be made up at another. Sorry

Another little known fact is all the little no name sites, like sav-on, canadian tire, safeway, etc. All get basically just base grade gasoline. When your big rigs upload fuel, they basically just press 1 button(unless otherwise paid for) and thats it..... Petro-can stations get a minimum of 26 additives for "regular" gas and more for midgrade and even more for supreme. The extra additives are anything from spark enhancers, to injector cleaner, to octane booster, to stabilizers and g/l a/f, etc..... You may get the "no names" cheaper, but you get what you pay for!!!!!! I never even knew that til i took a tour of the p/c refinery about 8 years ago!

Gas this morning is $1.81. for regular & $1.92 for diesel. Which I had stocks in Esso. $75.00 to fill my sled. $200. to fill the pickup. I've had enough. Moving south ASAP. Me thinks the guy with the gun & the mask should be on the other side of the counter theses days. Good news is it is supposed to snow tonight.

They were speaking with a Canadian living in Texas on the radio and he raised an interesting point...why did the prices go up in Canada and not the USA during the storm and why is it that in the USA all stations are priced differently and yet in Canada all stations are the same...so much for fair market pricing.

I'm just glad prices are going down this week.
