Don't you know the oil companies trick? If oil goes up gas has to go up that day or before, even if oil just "might" go up. But if oil drops, that gas is already bought from the higher price so no drop....Funny how it works

Because the amount it increases compared to oil, it never comes back down that much.

But I don't think ANYONE can make sense of gas prices.....

When demand outstrips production prices go up.

When we conserve & use less gas, production is slowed to tighten supply all to make prices go up. (We are experiencing this now).

And at present the price discrepancy between oil & gas is (realistically) unfounded and too large.....meaning gas is overpriced considering the price of oil.

And when has anyone seen a price war at the pumps? Last time for me was 1995 in Edmonton near the muni with regular selling for 29 cents per litre when prices were normally in the 50-55 cent range.

I complained the other day when it went up to 1.21 in the city but then talked to a friend who lives in the UK and they r paying 1.38pounds per litre which equals $2.18/L for us!!!! That hurts!!
