Hello. I have a problem with my Honda 1981 XR80 dirtbike. There is gas in the oil. Anyone know why and how to fix it?

could be that your float was stuck
down or there was some crap in the float needle valve and the fuel fron your tank would gravity feed into the carb over filling it and then running into your intake. This of course would have taken a little while so it had to sit for some time for this to occur.

I agree with Pipes, make sure you shut the fuel off when not in use.

Ok thank both of you! So I just changed the oil and cleaned the spark plug and it started right up on my (a 12 year olds) 1st kick! I understand the basics of what your saying but not much else. So your saying I forgot to shut fuel off so gas seeped into oil over time

yes, if the needle in the carb is worn and doesn't seal perfectly anymore then when the bike is parked the gas over fills the bowl and it comes out of the nozzle and idle circuit a little and if the intake valve is open it ends up in the combustion chamber, weeps past the rings and ends up in the crankcase. shutting the fuel off is good to do anyway, but I would look into a new needle seat for the carb.
