Thinking about painting 20 year drywall. What's the easiest /cheapest way to do it? Do I need to prime first? Isn't there some kind of paint that's got built in primer so I can just give it a quick splash?
You still have two kids at home right? Cheap, easy labor. Glad I could help. đź‘Ť

My kids will wait till I get done doing it myself and then come in and trash the place.

I would love to find a good graffiti artist and turn them loose in there

I actually happen to know a really good graffiti artist, just not sure where she is at the moment, she is kind of a gypsy.....

Go get some bulls eye primer. My garage had old yellow drywall that i thought was ruined. A painter gave me this tip and i tried it. After two coats of this stuff there was no bleed through. I have no pics of the before on my phone but after 3 years there is no bleed through after painting my garage white. Im very pleased with the results and it made a huge differance in the brightness in the garage.

Sorry to chime in so late on this one, Mike.
Don't rip down the drywall !!!
You can drywall over it, or just go to a drywall supplier. Like Consolidated on 170 st or Winroc on 215 St or who ever you want. You want a paint called T.I.P.S - Total Interior Primer Sealer.
And yes to spraying it through an airless or it can be rolled. Tips will dry white, where Kilz is kind of an almond off white color.
