G4 Clickers

Just picked up my new G4 175 and Clickers are so tight I can't move them... any tips or suggestions? Just don't want to wreck anything. Also do I take the bolt all the way out to adjust the Clickers? Thanks! First Doo in 20 years...

I would like to add to this if you dont mind, what are guys seeing for rpm on their 175's at factory clicker, 3(?) My one buddy was seeing 8200rpm, while im seeing 8000rpm...

I would like to add to this if you dont mind, what are guys seeing for rpm on their 175's at factory clicker, 3(?) My one buddy was seeing 8200rpm, while im seeing 8000rpm...

Not enough info, cans, rider weight, etc can affect rpm.

I have the cooker can, 220lbs with gear.

The other guy, same sled, loud maybe race can, not sure make, 300lbs.

All stock, clicker 3, 6-7000 feet, pulled 78-7900rpm, track speed of 80km/hr 230lb driver..

this sled is extremely darty, and trying to follow a steep rut line in deep snow, good luck

Your age is showing Fred because I have the same problem. The young guys in my group not so much. Lol. The key for us old guys is to make your own line. Works everytime!

Making virgin line was the right idea Ken and when possible I was doing that, but when in four feet of fresh and in decent climbs threw trees, and narrows the stocker needed some track pouching to make it.. No matter what age it was not happening on stock skid, bakers skid on Marcel's 175 was much more stable..

by days ends I was getting a bit better on G4 using head movement to make full turns, and just positioning legs to do things I never thought possible, but then next day went back to a t3 with aftermarket skid and felt much more at home, followed lines with out issue, This new sled is almost to nimble, ski lift in steep was much more than I prefer, but we had a 110lb women with us on one G4 and she loved it..

Toms snowmobile just came out with a new rear arm and a shock that will give you full lock out for steep and deep climbs, and just a clicker away from normal conditions.. With a turbo this I see as a must.., that are go with another baker skid

Not saying it’s the total problem but like Caper is hinting you might want to try your stock can. To me the cooker can is more of a kitchen accessory rather than a performance part. Things you have to sacrifice for a hot meal on the hill I guess.

I heard that the GGB race can dyno’d at a 1HP increase over the stock can. The GGB quiet can was a 1 HP loss.

Never removing the cooker can, hot meals are absolutely needed on the hill. I thought they flow tested them??

Thats fine, I barely have enough time to eat a sandwich on the hill. Humm yah don't worry about your rpm than, but yes I suspect the can is a part of your rpm issue, IMO cans are more trouble than they are worth.
Your buddy is heavier and has more rpm so I find that interesting.

Exactly what is says. Flow tested to match cfm of the stock unit.

Interesting... So they blow a fan through it and as long as the amount that comes out the bottom matches the stock muffler it's all the same? Cool.

I'm no exhaust builder but I have a suspicion that there's a bit more science to it than that. But I'll give you that they do cook a mean beef burrito!

How old is old these days to be able to keep up with the young punks?

TKO, there is a really easy test on this... when you come up to a cornice do you:

A) immediately pin it to hit the cornice on the way up, put it into a whip and then jump it on down

B) stop at the bottom and watch the young guys in group A try the whip that looks great on camera when successful... even if its only 1 out of 10 tries

I'm in Group B which I'm fine with as Group B is sponsored by Fire Ball... Group A is sponsored by Red Bull! Ha, ha, ha!

Its called a flow bench and very common with a performance muffler.... no not a fan dummy.
