ya, they say an extra 90 minutes, maybe in good road/traffic conditions. I would plan on over 2 hour delay.

90min to 2 hours is probably accurate for extra time. In ideal road conditions and traffic it’s a 45min extra. The problem here is the detour route. Highway 95 has a lot of turns, passing lanes are plentiful but extremely short. Highway 93 on the west side of the pass or near there has next to no passing lanes. Either one of these highways was not designed for large truck traffic let alone the amount going through. Tag that up with the weekend warriors and ski traffic, it will be a extra for sure.

Nice that they avoided prime sled season with these detours.

I'm sure that was their upmost concern
I'm sure they had car counters doing a study before they decided on when was the best time to do it. That may very well be the best time between the sled, ski traffic and the RV, boat traffic.
